Watched the new Iron Man movie

All I can say is my opinion of it was - meh ... I liked the other Iron Man movies a lot and I felt as if this one didn't live up to the standards the others had set.

I liked it better than the last two films, thought it was nice to see the character develop more.

I really liked how they used Mandarin. Ben Kingsley went from being terrifying to very funny very quickly

^ Except Mandarin was NOT supposed to be comic relief. Mandarin was to Iron Man what the Joker was to Bat Man, Lex Luther to Superman, etc.

Eye candy? of course. The liberties they took with the script pissed off a lot of purists. Every comic book reader i know is now completely out on the series. The movies will still make millions of course, but the studio has lost the following of the very people who they started making these movies for in the first place.

I'm a comic book reader, have been buying Marvel all my life, and am a massive fan of Extremis, the Iron Man story that this was based (loosely) on.

I liked it for the fact that I wasn't expecting it. As a comic fan, these films rarely surprise me. That they out a twist in it like that keeps the diehards guessing. And it worked. For me at least.

And I seriously doubt Marvel have alienated that many people with it.

Dramatic or not, I work with several comic book guys who went and saw the movie opening night. One and all pissed off and done seeing the movies. Have another friend who said he felt the same way.

My sample size is a whole 5 guys, but to a man they are out on the marvel movies now. Those 5 guys won't make a dent in the 100s of people I know who will contine to contribute money to the marvel movie franchise. Like I said, its a just a shame the people I know who wanted to like it the most are the ones pissed off and over it.
