    It took long enough

Two days ago, my printed and bound (hardcover) thesis arrived in the mail! What a sense of accomplishment. Almost 250 pages in hardcover makes for a pretty hefty book.

It still hasn't hit the online dissertations and theses database yet. I kinda expected it to appear there first. I'm waiting for that so I can have a pdf copy, too. My own attempts to make a pdf failed repeatedly. Something with the file conversion process from the MS Word version kept resulting in screwed up characters in some of my tables. Of course, if the university was up on tech, they wouldn't have been encouraging us to use Word to write theses and dissertations in the first place.

I really should get the diploma framed, though. It's still in the round cardboard shipping tube it came in several months ago.

Still trying to figure that out. I have educated/trained myself to do wildlife/land conservation, most specifically with private nonprofits. Those kinds of jobs are few and far between. Working at a bike shop seasonally while I try to get some things going. Have handed out a lot of resumes. Have done a good bit of networking. Am trying to boost the resume some by getting a journal publication this year, too, with a combination of data from my thesis and some new analyses.

    It may take awhile.

    It took long enough

    Major - environmental science

I worte my thesis, in short, about the occupancy, diversity, and detection probability of mesopredators in Navarro County, TX related to landcover change in the past 25 years. Yes, that is the short summary

I will also post a link to the online listing when it comes up. you'll probably have to be on a university or library system to see it. so far, my old login info still gets me through the library's proxy system so I can search that database even though my university e-mail has been deleted.

Even though this site supports uploading of pdf docs, I doubt it will handle a 250 page document. It's likely to be many megabytes in size and photos aren't allowed to be that big IIRC.
