    Throwback Thursday

Post up significant memorabilia from the previous century - songs, events, people...

    It's basically - "hey - Remember this?"

    Examples:
    A commercial:
    <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ug75diEyiA0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    A song:
    <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/y38Ec57yMG8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
    Honestly... ahh I give up

It's not Thursday any more or I'd post some big haired wimmen.
Chasing bears through the woods drunk with a dull hatchet is strongly not advised

I loved the ET movie as a kid, and was so excited for the game... It was one of my first games ever after pong and wheel of fortune on MS DOS
Got the game, opened it, put the cartridge in, turn it on, 5 seconds later fall into a hole. Most disappointing game ever.

Amazing/sad how TV has evolved. From Carol Burnett to Honey Boo-Boo. SMFH.

This isn't the funniest skit ever, but the throwback begins with the phone ringing.

Jane Fonda on the Johnny Carson show. Man her and Raquel Welch I had a crush on as a teenager in the 70's.

a friend of mine folks had a bunch of them. the air ride suspension was the coolest thing at the time. though the cars rotted out fast in the toronto winter salt. though if i had the coin that would be the one vintage car i would get.

And how about the Amphicar / part car part boat. Made in Germany from 1962-1968. Very few were shipped to the U.S.A.The first time I saw one I was about 10 years old. We were camping in the Adironacks in upstate N.Y. And a guy had one in campsite next to ours. "Look dad that car has a propeller". Next thing I know I see him drive it in to the lake. It was a James Bond moment.. Check it out kiddies Amphicar - YouTube

My dad had one in his car from 1982 onward. The “hands free” microphone was up next to the driver’s side sunvisor, and so back then everyone driving by thought he was a crazy guy talking to himself.

Hey Highdell [the O. P.] posted in here on a non Thursday, so to me that's an invite to post here any time. I say screw Thursday and post whenever a thought from history comes to mind. B.T.W. Highdell love this thread and if played right it has the potential to hit the stratisphere. There is so much history it could go on for ever.

    Back at it.

My Amphicar post several posts up reminded me
of this movie clip. James Bond 1977' A Spy Who
Loved,Me. The first under water car scene, I
remember as a teenager being in awe of this
scene. And I thought in the future at least by now
2013' it would be reality, driving under water.
