    Subconscious problem solving

    Disclaimer; bike related...

Went on one of the best rides i can remember last Sunday. Hit some terrain features i never touch with authority, rode faster, yada yada yada.

Get to the truck and realize my cat eye is not on the bars. I didnt crash at all, so i couldnt imagine how it came off. I was bummed to lose the running tally of miles i had on my bike, but was less bummed than i expected. It was a great ride after all.

I woke up the next morning at 4:30am and knew EXACTLY where it was. From a dead sleep to wide awake with that knowledge as my alarm clock.

Got back out there around 30 hours later (on a well used trail mind) and BAMN!!! there it was in the exact rut i visualized it being in. From the dirt caked onto it it had been ridden over several times, but it still works!!!

Pretty strange how the brain works eh?

I do my best thinking in my sleep.

Congrats. On getting it back and now I'm lacking in not knowing the yada, yada, yada part. You left us hanging wondering, pondering what else happened on that ride.

So are you still in the twilight zone, or have you "stepped back" yet?

    Subconscious problem solving

Next time you rage quit and start throwing your gear all over the woods, make a sharper mental note of it. Doing such will let you sleep better at night.

My father in law has a theory about states of being, everyone is either: unconsciously incompetent, consciously incompetent, consciously competent, or unconsciously competent. You have appeared to have reached the highest level. Congratulations BRG. I'm still working on it, according to my father in law.

My experience with Subconscious problem solving:

I was riding on Mount Pinos, and came up to a cyclist lying on the ground who had just crashed. He said he went over a jump, then hit two trees, and landed there on the ground. I looked back at the jump and the trees, but I could not figure out how he hit both trees and ended up in that position. I didn't ask for an exact description of the accident, because I was more concerned with making sure he was okay. His friends got there after a few minutes and he was able to ride away. Later that night I dreamed I was in his accident. (I dreamed the accident from his point of view. Then I woke up, and realized how he had the accident, and how he ended up in that position.)
