Don't knock the pods until you've tried them, man!

As far as the Christmas tree... She got her refund, so who's stoopid now, huh?

I propose the elimination of ALL warning labels. Let's just allow the stOOpid problem to take care of itself. If you want to put some laundry pods on your salad, then dammit, go big with 'em! I highly recommend a nice light raspberry vinaigrette dressing to go with that.

I like those pods with the little cherries embedded in the tops...

I worked at costco. they will let you return anything if you are not satisfied for any reason. An old woman returned a book once while I was there. Read the whole thing. didnt like how it ended. she got her money back.
A pristine bike free of dirt, scratches, and wear marks makes me sort of sad.

Pretty much all retail is like this now, thanks to Nordstrom's long running return policy. Most all went to the no hassle return policy. It really brings out the scum of society. You more or less can rent any kind of tool and then return it once the job is done.

^Right, like at REI where people returned hiking boots in absolutely trashed condition, obviously used for hundreds of miles, with the excuse "they don't fit." Bam, full refund. REI wised up and made it a year max (I think) after purchase.

A lot of their returned stock is turned around at the used gear sales, where you can get stuff in good shape at pretty good prices if you get there early enough. I got a $100 trunk-mount bike rack for $30 and a $70 pair of hiking shoes for $12.50.

So if I bring back the receipt for a Costco prime rib and a bag of bones, can I get a refund if I say I didn't like the way it ended?

I agree!! let the problem take care of itself. The gene pool is definitely flooding/diluting with too much stOOpid. I always have a hard time sympathizing with anyone who makes the decision to do things like this...

Man, now I'm remembering all the things I tried out to get "high"when I was a teen. Banana peals, nutmeg, all that stuff from the anarchists cookbook. Then there was overdosing Robitussin and other meds. Thankfully we finally found a good supplier of pot and lsd and xtc....

And none of it made the news even though literally everyone I knew was doing it. Very few pics too cause film was expensive. And thank God no internet.

My experience is every generation is about the same, but the older ones get self-righteous and vindictive. I have way more problems with the boomers I have to deal with every day than the millennials. The boomers stupidity goes way beyond eating cactus and is hurting everyone. At least millennials are mostly hurting themselves at this stage.

And cactus is pretty tasty, but I recommend taking the spikes off. I mean why do you think they have all those spikes? So we won't eat them!

Was interesting to witness the interpretation of that cactus munch vid from various generations' perspectives... xD

From my viewpoint, I was trying to emphasize authenticity. In a world full of people trying to put up a favorable image, often arrogant (e.g. I have a PhD or I've forgotten more in the last 10 years than you learned in your entire life) or narcissistic, it's refreshing to see someone not lying to themselves and others. Refreshing to see someone using their will to drop the act of trying to fit some image/character they made for themselves, not trying to hide their instinctual and emotional behavior.

Most wouldn't ever share such a display outside of their personal groups, out of fear that it ruins their image. The arrogance is just too strong. Must hide weakness, vulnerability, emotion, and not let others see how immature and how lacking one's self-control/discipline is... the same types are quick to judge, bullying those that show such weak undesirable social traits. People are stuck harboring closet instincts, if it's not deemed to be socially accepted.

Seems people resort to social drinking outings to get others drop the act and/or to drop the stress related to keeping it up. They try to enforce some sort of "code", to protect their image, like "what happens in ____ stays in ____." They hate whistleblowers, while others think they're heroes for exposing unethical behavior.

I'm sure the arrogance of some people will have them trying to claim they're not part of some group that's viewed negatively, or try to save face by making their group look "better" than another, trying to redirect people's attention somewhere else. Seen this pattern too many times already... I've already made a list of what people do to justify their questionable behavior. This post touches on some of them.

Sad thing is that this behavior is being passed down, and the older generation takes no responsibility for it. Where does the newer generation get its behavior from? A lot of it is from subconscious conformity to what people expose themselves to--you get influenced at least a little, no matter how much you resist, through the power of suggestion. Judging things negatively, and avoiding exposure, telling people to get off your lawn, is a natural defense to minimize such conformity. There's examples of behavior patterns being passed down through modern culture itself. For example, arrogance is actually reinforced through processes like resume writing--where on a resume do you write about maturity level, street smarts, vision, personality, etc.? Thankfully, a cover letter allows you the opportunity to do such...
We're all on the same ship, and it's sinking.

From my viewpoint, I was trying to emphasize authenticity. In a world full of people trying to put up a favorable image, often arrogant (e.g. I have a PhD or I've forgotten more than you learned in your life) or narcissistic, it's refreshing to see someone not lying to themselves and others. Dropping the act to try and fit some character they made for themselves, and not trying to hide their instinctual and emotional behavior. Seems people resort to social drinking outings to get others drop the act and/or to drop the stress related to keeping it up.

Most wouldn't ever share such a display outside of their personal groups, out of fear that it ruins their image. The arrogance is just too strong. Must hide weakness, vulnerability, emotion, and not let others see how immature and how lacking one's self-control/discipline is. The same types are quick to judge, bullying those that show such weak undesirable social traits. People are stuck harboring closet instincts, if it's not deemed to be socially accepted.
i'm pretty sure i'm picking up on what you're putting down...

Search for threads in the off-camber section or through the posts of bullies/critics, and you'll see stupidity when seen from this perspective:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_and_circuses

People just talking about consumption of entertainment and food/drink endlessly, not taking much interest in wider concerns (the few topics that touch on these kind of serious topics have hardly any views)...

Heck, such people try to dumb things down and influence others to be less serious. Their defense against criticism is that they're happier being ignorant or that they're not dumb, they're just not being serious. They then influence their critics to be less serious as well.

If teens could choose to be defiant to any sort of behavior trying to be passed down from older generations, I hope they can defy something like this, or at least stop being baited by such sensational overly dramatic "news" stories, over more serious ones. Not really my place to judge the other things they defy. I don't oppose the act; I just question the reasons.

People even combine the two, by making food based entertainment (foodie selfies, food porn, etc.). Can argue that this isn't stupidity, but natural behavior, or maybe somewhere in-between like simple-mindedness, but it'll be hard to convince anyone that this is actually progressing anything besides this pattern of consumption.
We're all on the same ship, and it's sinking.

Yesterday when I was coming back from my ride on I5, this lady in the carpool lane was driving her compact SUV with her leg, texting, toddler in the back, teen in the front. I blew my horn at her, and cursed at her, but I was vey close to calling 911 on her azz.

Having the most sensitive and nerve rich portion of your penis cut off against your will is pretty fukking archaic if you ask me. The fact that this along with so much other medical nonsense is driven by social norms and profit speaks volumes to the thread tittle.
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

you sir are misinformed, you don't cut off the nerves. All a circumcision is cutting of the fore skin. all the nerves are on the head of the dick and are not touched. In fact it makes you last longer in bed, since it takes a little longer to get aroused.

I'm not sure who's misinformed. There are literally thousands of peer published studies and articles on the subject. This one, written by a pediatrician, states 20,000 nerve endings are lost with circumcision.

    Mothering: The Case Against Circumcision

It also speaks to the plethora of other functions the foreskin fullfills. As if man can cut off a peice of the human body, the result of eons of evolution, without consequences. Again, the title of the thread.
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.
