I'm mentally getting ready to ride my rollers later today. That counts for something, right?
I've made some bad decisions like taking the gears off my bike. So here's the warning: Do not as I say, nor as I do.

nothing is exact, but you must have at least one carbon 29er with flats on it.

Its a state of mind Mr Magura, this old fart is old enough to know better, but young enough to do it again.

(Edit: Thank you Mr Magura, got me to exactly 3400 and +1 rep )

Good lord this spreading rep thing is getting hard. I had to go back 8 pages to find anybody that I could give it to. You must have to rep somewhere around 100 peeps before you can do it again.

    Ahem, carry on.

So, back to the daily grind after having some nice time away from the desk.
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Years. I enjoyed some much needed R&R, as well as some great rides out at some of my local trails.

So, I was riding home from class this afternoon. There's a bit of snow on the side of the road, and, me being me, I had to make the first tracks. And then I saw that there was a patch of ice coming up, so I tried to get back onto the pavement before I hit it. Except that I hit the ice while I was maneuvering towards the pavement. Both my tires started sliding, and I somehow managed to jump clear of the bike, lay it down, and land and slide on my feet to the end of the ice patch. I ended up about ten feet down the road from where I dumped the bike.

I felt really cool, until I realized that I had managed to nearly crash while riding about 10 miles per hour on flat ground. And because there was perfectly good pavement next to me, but I had decided to ride on the snow/ice instead.
I've made some bad decisions like taking the gears off my bike. So here's the warning: Do not as I say, nor as I do.

I don't think it's healthy to be regularly going green.

Of course I did. I've slid out on snow/ice before, but that time I was on my mountain bike and I landed in a nice, soft snowbank.
