So, I nearly managed to wreck while riding today. I was commuting on my fixed gear, and I had just left class so there were probably about 200 people around. I clipped a pedal heading into an uphill turn, which threw me off the pedals and off the bike. I somehow managed to jump clear of the bike -- I landed on my feet, but my bike landed pretty hard on its side, which shattered the bar plug, tore the bar tape, and shifted the fender a bit.

Everyone saw it, so I felt pretty cool about my total ninja moment, but I had those bar plugs to match the frame and now I only have one bar plug.
I've made some bad decisions like taking the gears off my bike. So here's the warning: Do not as I say, nor as I do.

First world problem, man. But yeah, I mourn your loss (of a bar-plug).

I considered getting this one. Ambassadorhawg would be proud!
CamelBak H.A.W.G. NV Hydration Pack - 100 fl. oz. - Free Shipping at REI.com

..but I figured that might be overkill, since my mtb rides aren't camping trips.

The (ambassador) H.A.W.G is NOT over kill!
I have one (the one you showed looks to be even sweeter, at a quick glance) and it's really great!
It collapses nicely for light loads and has decent room (12 of can beer fits with some room to spare)
the NV system is cool and works pretty well

I use mine as an 'everyday' pack -
    rating: "would fap to"

Speaking of orange, here's the SS 29er that Matthew wants to buy so I can introduce him to mountain biking.

He loves orange bikes, like my burnt orange rigid Rockhopper.

So, she seems handy with big sticks. I suppose that could be useful in life after jumping.

So looking out my window to see the weather and to see how much I need to shovel and see steam coming off my window sill out side. Either that or my house is on fire
