I just watched the trailer Judy posted. Who comes up with this crap. It's raining sharks look out. But I guess it could be entertaining in a dumb sorta way. And I suppose It could make it's way in to the B movie hall of shame.

When I was working retail, we had a customer that produced movies like this for cable TV. He was nutty looking and thought all of them were ridiculous but he loved what he did.

Perhaps new wurker will produce a film with raining TurtleHawgs? One never knows....

OK, I'll admit, I watched it. It was actually one of the worse of the SyFy channel's lineup of ridiculously bad disaster flicks. But it was so bad it was pretty good in a weird sort of way. I was intrigued by the pairing of Ian Ziering and Tara Reid.

Actually a much better shark movie is Two Headed Shark Attack. It has everything you want in a movie: babes, bikinis, and a man/woman eating two headed shark. Funny thing is that the people, for the most part, only die in pairs.

Wow who knew, the more years that pass, the more super powers our sharks are becoming. I'm surprised they haven't grown wing's yet.

Shh, that's not a bad thought and so you should quickly pass that idea on to Syfy before somebody else does. I guarantee they'll "bite" on that.

Was just looking into it, and Sharknado is not on Netflix Instant, nor on Amazon prime instant, altho I am sure it will not be too long before it is. While I was looking at the Netflix description tho, I did find this:

"When a freak hurricane swamps Los Angeles, thousands of sharks are swept up in tornadoes and deposited all over the city, where they terrorize the shocked residents. Among them is bar owner Fin, who must rescue his estranged wife and daughter."

Am I to understand that one of these freakishly-deposited sharks, Fin, (great name for a shark BTW!), had a bar and family somewhere before he was unceremoniously picked up by a tornado and put down in LaLa Land? Sheet, I'd be pissed and want to eat people too!

I did not see this particular horror/laugh fest, but I do know that the Syfy channel is very proud of their movies. They even made a short behind the scenes promo film detailing the reasoning behind making these cheddar flicks. Apparently people just love'em. Who knew? The Syfyf channel did, that's who. Stonehengepocalypse, just sayin'

Fin is Ian Ziering's character's name, not the shark's. Its a brilliant name for the lead character's name in a shark movie, that's for sure!

I always liked B movies, even before Syfy took it to the next level. A lot of the Syfy stuff I don't like so much but occasionally I can't help myself and I'll watch. One characteristic all these Syfy films have is real low budget, awful special effects. Its pretty funny.

Indeed, it would be. I'm sure there's a sequel coming out and it would be in the realm of possibility to have a shark named Fin take over the bar. It could be a toxic waste story line where the chemicals give the shark super intelligence so it eats the human Fin and comes up with a diabolical plot to take over the bar by impersonating Fin. Any humans who catch on would be immediately eaten.

That looks like classic! Gotta love the low quality ghost effect. Reminds me of something you might see on Scooby Doo.

I saw the M.U.S.S. in your signature, which is the U of Utah student sports booster club. I attended school there a few years back.

The MUSS I refer to is the one with 2 wheels rolling beneath me. An acronym itself, the More Urban Single Speed. I'm not really sure what that means, as far as I know there isn't a Less Urban Single Speed or a Farmer's Utilitarian Single Speed.

I will be having my girlfriend watch this movie as she is deathly afraid of sharks. She hates when Discovery channel has shark week every year because I love watching it. I have a countdown on my calender for shark week.

That is so cool. My seventh grade advanced biology teacher had a two headed snake in a jar. I've been obsessed with the two headed thing ever since. It's really just an identical twinning thing gone wrong, but I still think it's cool. Shhhh....don't tell my identical twin cousins...

    This movie is epic.
And that's after she was snatched out of the sky by the tornado embedded shark after she fell out of a helicopter! I have to admit I didn't see the chainsaw ending coming though. I figured once Fin cut himself out of the shark that was it. How do they come up with this stuff?!

According to Bianchi, that's what it means. I prefer it being open to interpretation though, more fun that way. I actually like the bologna paint scheme, it's a little more unique then the blue grey scheme of the other MUSS release. I get a fair amount of compliments on it, more than my other rides.
So... anybody hear about the swimsuits being developed by a lab in Australia, I think, that are camouflaged against sharks? The suits are designed to mimic the colors of the surrounding water. I thought sharks used their sense of smell for the hunt rather than their eyesight. Right now they are in the development stage, I would not want to be that test subject.... Of course, these suits probably wouldn't be too useful against a Sharknado or a ghost shark or Bruce.
I don't know why,... it's just MUSS easier to pedal than the other ones.

Lol, there's a lot of details coming out, that's for sure. There's just so much to talk about. Maybe spoiler alerts are in order. The good news is that the execution of these scenes is what really counts so even if you know what's coming it won't totally ruin it.

There's no way this can possibly happen. Sharks hate subfreezing temps. Anyhoo I'll come for the shark gore but stay for the bikinis.

Sharknado 2: The Second One premiers July 31st and as you can see from this thread it will be must see TV. Our old friends Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will be back but in a bit of inspired casting, Judah Friedlander from 30 Rock will also be joining the cast. Should be good.

Man the things sharks do these day's is truly amazing. I remember a time not too long ago they were limited to swimming in open water.

Before long they'll be walking on land. And the way things are going I doubt the evolutions going to take millions of years, more like months.

You're right Deke, this idea has been used before. Watch out for the land sharks, they're rather crafty buggers.

    So, I finally saw it!!!

    Sharknado... BEST MOVIE EVVVAHH!!!

Oh wow, I downloaded it and watched it on the ferry ride from Dublin to Holyhead, Wales yesterday, and I have to say I kept looking out the window on the boat expecting sharks to be flying by outside!

Awesome film, absolutely the worst continuity, storyline, acting, pretty much everything was just dreadful, but incredible. The most fun I have had since I was mugged in NYC in 1978...

Best line of any movie I have seen: (As they cower on the staircase looking down at the bloody and body part strewn water flooding the ground floor of the mansion just after the boyfriend has been eaten by the shark that flew thru the window)..." I guess it's a bad time of the month..." Groan!!!...

    AWESOME!!!

Fun Sharknado Math/Trig Problem, person who gets it correct gets positive rep!

Assuming the sharks are perfect projectiles, how fast (in MPH) will sharks fly out of a tornado that is spinning at 2300 RPM's that is a mile in diameter?

Bravo Sir, *insert clapping sounds* Bravo. That is approximately 569.25 times the speed of sound, meaning you would see the sonic boom coming off of the sharks.

Wait, but surely the terminal velocity of a shark is approx. 128 mph, otherwise wouldn't they be unrecognisable as sharks? They would actually look more like laser beams...

The Kids in the Hall predicted this trend, and the angst that it must cause the sharks . .

Perhaps, but we will never know for sure until we shoot sharks at a speed of 433539.78619539146690784478689257 MPH

I got an email from Huff Post this morning, and it had a report on the tornado risk in the midwest right now... in the advertising sidebar was a quick video trailer from Sharknado playing! It had the flying sharks and the shark about to eat the guy with the chainsaw...

    Marvelously insensitive!
