    Sad day. His character was one of the biggest nut cases to ever appear on a TV series. RIP.

    I never did watch the Dukes growing up but I recall this nutty role. The son sheriff in Smokey and the Bandit was a similar funny roll. That type of comedy hasn't been seen too much recently.

    So true. Slapstick comedy is a dying breed. Everything is so "reality" based anymore...
