    Rage against the machine...

So, several months ago I bought a DeLonghi coffee machine that did expresso, cappucino, drip etc, and used it happily for a month or so. One day the drip stopped working, and nothing could induce it to work.
I called Bed Bath and Whatever, and they told me to contact DeLonghi direct.
I have to add that every time I would contact DL direct, it would take several calls, redirects, hung up calls, misdirects etc. the usual BS to get to anyone vaguely worth talking to.

They told me to cut the AC cord and send it to them, and they would send a new machine.
6 weeks later I got a new machine. (Put the old one in the garage)
Used this for 2 days, then the drip side stopped working and nothing could induce it to work.
Contacted DL direct, with the usual BS and days of frustration, but they eventually told me to cut the cord, send it in, and they would send me an UPGRADED and MUCH BETTER model for all the trouble I had been having... Yippee! I thought.

6 weeks later I got another big package, ripped it open to find... the SAME machine that I had been using, only a cheaper version! I fumed.
Spent the next day or so contacting DL once again, and eventually got hold of someone who professed sympathy. they told me they would IMMEDIATELY send me a new machine of the upgraded kind...
    I waited one week
    I waited 2 weeks
After 3 weeks I tried to reach DL again, but every attempt was thwarted, and I kept getting the same BS answers. SO...

I googled DeLonghi executives and found a news item that gave the name of 2 new VPs of marketing and PR. I also found the main number for their corp offices, and listened to the directory of names until I heard the VP of marketing. I called that number, and lo and behold, the lady answered herself! She was actually in a meeting with the other members of her team, and put me on the speaker so all could hear my story... She was awesome, got me sorted out with the super-upgraded machine, plus some other goodies which were overnighted to me immediately!

Now I have 2 broken machines, one brand new working machine in its box, in the garage, and one super-upgraded machine in my kitchen!

Sometimes a little resourcefulness pays off!
    It's all Here. Now.

I thought this thread was going to be about a band that use to make great music. I've got a DeLoghi Coffee/Espresso maker. It's made a pot of coffee/day for the last 6,7 maybe 8 possibly 9 years now & the occasional espresso on the weekends. They must have cheapened them up.

Same here I thought we were discussing an awesome band. Rocker get your money back and move on to a different brand "machine" / no more rage.

It's hard to believe they put their first (and best) album out 20 years ago. That's older than my coffee maker!

    Ouch!!

A few months ago I bought a Bluetooth headset from Macworld, good price good model. It came broken, I called they apologized and send me a new one, in the mean time I order another one figured I'd keep another as a spare in my car. Long story short both came broken again. I'm not talking about not functioning properly, it's broken visibly cracked and broken. I emailed and called them back with the pic attached.

So sorry, they said. Shipped 3 overnight for me, I picked it up at FedEx, took my phone out and start vid on the package, the FedEx guys was looking too. All 3 were broken one was worst the earpiece actually separated from the unit. I sent them the vid, they said they'd have someone get back with me. I got the refund but no one ever called me. 8 for 8, what a winner MacWorld. I was told that they bought a lot of this bluetooth headset they shipped straight from the warehouse in Philippine.

I then order the same model from Newegg, about the same price, got it in 2 days(they are local). After all this just to find out that the BlueAnt is a piece of crap

    Nice...

I bought a lower end Gaggia cap/expresso machine and it's been stellar for ~1.5 years so far.

The best rage against story I have is my neighbor:

Bought a big arse Sub Zero refrigerator/freezer from a web site.
When delivered and installed he realized the door wasn't sealing properly (damaged during shipment).
The company shipped a replacement (after having lotta words a few times on the phone eheheh) and never picked up the old one.

He now has the most expensive 2nd fridge in the garage you could imagine (with a little door hinge bend work to get it closing properly).

Heheh! I once went to a posh restaurant with the missus in London, real high end pretentious place where the food wasn't that great. Service was iffy, and then half way thru the meal, we saw a mouse come out from behind the bar and run across the floor. I called the manager and gave him some sh*t... he was super apologetic and gave us free food and free drinks for the night...

I now carry a mouse in a box every time I go eat... Attrition is high...

    Rage against the machine...

Why not just use a French press? Why do things need to be so complicated?

Tea is coffee in British! Besides, how many tea express shops do you see around?

RGOAB doesn't drink Starbucks coffee. Beans growing in Kuala Lumpur drop off the tree, and roast and grind themselves for him every morning.
I've made some bad decisions like taking the gears off my bike. So here's the warning: Do not as I say, nor as I do.
