A proud day for aussies at the tour de france, we take the yellow jersey , yee haa

CONGRATS SIMON GERRANS AND AUSSIE TEAM ORICA GREEN EDGE.

Today ex MOTO X rider Aussie Simon Gerrans pulled on the yellow jersey in the tour de france, only the 6th aussie to ever do so.

After an epic stage win by him yesterday, our aussie team in its second year won stage 4 today in the team time trial, a massive effort by a team of Aussie riders only and in its second year.

We set out with the goal of just winning one stage this year, but as of today have won 2 out of 4 stages in a stellar performance on the world stage.

And who knows Cadel Evens could just take the whole thing out again, its early days yet.

So i just wanted to share my pride with you guys, we are proud Aussies today..

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE, OI OI OI............

Is anybody watching it out there, maybe this could be the OC tour thread

My favorite Aussie from the old days was Phil Anderson, he should have been a Tour winner. Wait and see if Cadel can take on the boys on Stage 18.

An unpredictable TDF this yr so anything is possible from stage winners to overall classification but always good to see fresh faces / names.

I will keep my eye on Simon Gerrans... just for you Tone's!

My favorite Aussie in the TdF was Robbie McEwen. He was an amazing sprinter, and started his biking roots in BMX.

Give it a couple of days and Contador is going to have his way in the mountains. He's had a year off and has been eating a lot of beef.

I would just wish they would let everyone take whatever they can get their hands on. Enough of this partially enhanced humans, lets go all out and see what real freaks we can produce.

Hell, that could be a pay-per-view event......

Glad you guys are enjoying it. Statistically speaking, the chances of another Cuddles implosion are pretty good.

Well it only took you guys a day or two to figure out that trying to drive your bus over the line a few minutes before everyone else doesn't count as a stage win.

It must be weird for those Orica Aussies to try to figure out how to ride upside down from what they're used to doing.
I've made some bad decisions like taking the gears off my bike. So here's the warning: Do not as I say, nor as I do.

So, looks as though the Aussies are the only ones who don’t dope? I know they’re all bloody crazy heathens—but respectable in many other respects—yet I’d suspect their path to success would be with their awesome alcohol consuming skills; are they riding drunk?

I like it when cyclists stand on the podium with cycling caps rather than baseball hats.
