I am not, but I know several people who are, and one of them does occasionally come on a bike ride with me. Most of them are really not like what a particular CSI episode stereotyped completely out of proportion. It's just another social activity and not really as strange as it seems.

In the fandom we despise that episode because now everyone bases the sterotype off of it. I have a few friend that bike but they arent into mountain biking.
If you look at my AV then you see that Im a lynx which is one of the reasons I guess I enjoy mountain biking over road.

You should at least change your screen name to hairy2110 if you want to be furry. Now how can you expect anyone to take anything described as a fandom seriously? How old are you? 10? 12?

I don't really view the fans of Furry any different than I view the fans of Cosplay. Both are not my cup of tea, but hey, if it keeps them from getting bored and robbing the local 7-11 then cool.

I don't know what I would think if I saw a person in an animal costume riding on the trail, but for that matter, I don't really want to see most any of the Cosplayers on the trails either...

Actually, I have a family member into that stuff and from what I've seen, it seems to be pretty dead on. At least if the "art" is any indicator. Most of it seems to center around human/animal hybrids having some form of sex. Pretty disturbing stuff.

This video makes me want to wear an animal head when I ride. People already look at me weird when riding on the road. Something like this would just put it over the top. Awesome.

Nobody takes fandom seriously, 'cos it's not.

So would you ride in costume? That could be kind of interesting, dressed up as an animal, riding out in the woods, during hunting season.

You do know, by reaching out to other 'furries', you've proclaimed yourself weird.

wow weird! thanks for that does of perspective. I would think that fetishests would not particularly mix their fetishes. I mean I doubt BDSM people who ride mix that up.

Still different strokes for different folks.

That said probably not a good idea to air your fetishes on a mountain biking forum, even in the general discussion forum. There are all kinds of people on here and frankly most just prefer to discuss mountain biking and things associated with it. Fetishes are best left to the website devoted to that fetish.

Do you get off to dressing up like a cat or is it like a fashion choice. I guess I'm just kind of confused on why you would chose to dress up like an animal.

Our society? Try any society. As they say, an idol mind is the devils playground.

True, this is some wierd sh*t, but there's nothing illegal about it and worse things they COULD be doing. So if someone wants to put on a animal suit and pretend to do *things*, have at it. Doesn't affect me one way or the other.

Hah, jeezus, I thought this was gonna be a thread about beards.

I suppose riding as a furry is better than the guy who wanted to ride naked everywhere, this thread is only slightly less weird than that one...
    Bike good, work bad.

I don't think you have that kind of time for an answer.

And if I see one more image of usmcruz flexing his arms I'm going to have PFLAG call his parents. And since we're on the subject of Furries, if uscmruz did have a woman in his life she'd be his beard.

Furries, I don't care what people do in the privacy of their own homes. I had a coworker who was "a cat." Her idea of a costume was a pair of clip-on ears. She was a total whack job for other reasons so when she "came out" it surprised nobody. It was more pathetic than amusing.

To the OP, you're young and experimenting, do yourself a favor and move onto other things. Hanging out with 30-somethings on a trail is significantly more healthy than a group of furries.
Authorities speculate that speed may have been a factor. They are also holding gravity and inertia for questioning.

Actually I don't hang out with many yet but i am next year most are under 24 . To say that it would be more healthy can depend on how you look at it as I have to ride 16miles one way to see them and 16miles back. Also one of them that I know is into road biking not mountain but Im trying to convert him to mountain also. I also dont know of many mountain biking groups in southern IN or in Indianpolis either that I can get to without a car (vision restrictions).

Yeah man....Those vision restrictions suck....I would know......Driving with an animal head shaped helmet is a total *****....What a freaking drag huh? Oh wait....That only happened once on Halloween and I was drunk...I'm totally not a furry.

Replace "natural selection" with "eugenics" and you've got the right idea.

Eugenics is artificial. Besides, Adolf really turned it into a dirty word. Natural Selection is beautiful in it's simplicity; the weak and the stupid die first. In the interim, they justify the strong. I'm just sick of the "weeds are flowers too" mentality. It's dishonest.

I completely agree with you. Eugenics is a dirty word and highly immoral. It's too bad natural selection for humans doesn't work quite as well as it does with animals.

It would work ok if we let it. Unfortunately, we will hunt a species to the edge of extinction when it lashes out at encroachment, write "hate" legislation to address social aversions, and feign charity through taxation to subsidize everyone who isn't "normal"....for all our intelligence, wisdom eludes our species.
