I have a persistent raccoon that keeps tearing out my soffit vents to get into my attic. He's too smart for a trap. I've been spraying ammonia in the attic and around the vents to show him he's unwelcome. No babies up there so I'm not worried about that. I think I need to load the .22 and go on a stake-out...

I finally got a bed after sleeping on a futon for over a year! Shlts held together with zip-ties and duck tape with cinder blocks. Of coarse instead of sleeping I'm here blasting away.

    im taired.

Today was long, to say the least. Got up to the crit course at 6:45 AM to help set up for the crits today. Stood around until 12:30 as a course marshall. Got back to my room for a quick half-hour lunch/chill time. Back up at the course at 1:20. Racing at 1:40. Gnarly course -- really fun and technical, but 70 feet of climbing/lap with all sorts of winds = 1500 feet of climbing for the guys who raced for about ten minutes longer than I did. Put normal clothes back on. Cheer on teammates for the next few hours, trying to stay warm. Did I mention it was really windy and cold? Finally got back to my dorm around 7 PM.

Just finished a quick session with the roller. Now it's time for homework. Tomorrow if I race, I'll have to be out of the dorm by 6:30 AM again, so that I can get to the course and reg on time. It's a 44-mile killer of a course, with all sorts of nasty climbing and rollers. Including the trip to and from the course, that'll probably end up with over 70 miles for me for the day, with most of them spent climbing. Keep in mind that this is my first season racing, or really even training.

I've had a chest cold all week, though, so tomorrow's race may not be happening for me.
I've made some bad decisions like taking the gears off my bike. So here's the warning: Do not as I say, nor as I do.

I've been battling a cold for the last few days. One of my kids infected me and at one point I was so congested I thought I was about to suffocate. Slowly climbing back up out of the pit of sickness...

Damn Mosquitos. They are NOT welcome in my house. One of them stole my baseball card of Carter when I was a kid. They are mean blood suckers.

And Nicole, I really like your new bike.

Don't chew, still occasionally smoke, but that's on the way out.
    And no, not weed.

I don't smoke. I enjoy booze, but not other drugs. I like sugar and chocolate though.
