These are really good for starting fire with, you cut them down and dry them.

These are quite potent I believe.

As far as I know these might even kill you, no idea really.

I don't know. I have no interest in eating them, I just like taking pictures. Those small mushrooms in clusters were my favorite pics.

Two ears-- Can't be sure, but probably not A. muscaria: no volva veil, no typical white "warts" on the cap, no white stem. But, like I said before, macro characteristics vary hugely, so could be wrong...
    Amanita muscaria var. flavivolvata (MushroomExpert.Com)

Jet fuel--I forget what those are up top of your post... something squamosa. NOT PSYCHOACTIVE. Warty stems and caps, and slimy.

Then you have a bunch of anonymous LBMs -- little brownish mushrooms. Cool gregarious growing.
Then I'm guessing a big russula of some kind, maybe:
North American Shrimp Russulas: "Russula xerampelina" (MushroomExpert.Com)

Freakybro -- got some famously poisonous gallerinas there:
    Galerina marginata ("Galerina autumnalis") (MushroomExpert.Com)

Cyclelish: A Hericium! YeS! A super-easy one that tastes maybe the best of all:
    Hericium erinaceus (MushroomExpert.Com)
I love these -- nutty and almost citrusy.

Ya'll: DO NOT EAT MUSHROOMS THAT YOU HAVEN'T IDENTIFIED 100% with a pro field guide...

Yes, a wonderful mushroom -- a relative of the reishi -- Ganoderma:

    Ganoderma tsugae (MushroomExpert.Com)
    Ganoderma lucidum (MushroomExpert.Com)

BTW: Chicken of the woods don't usually get hard and dark like this when they get old; they just crumble and spread their spores...

Same thing here: an aging ganoderma. Maybe the most anti-cancer mushroom we have. Need much more research for this one...

I know the area and that particular area is full of A. muscaria. No other red mushrooms around for hundreds of miles.

But I too was suprised that is was so perfectly *red*! Which is why I took a picture. Must be a young one.

But it just has to be A. muscaria. If it wasn't it would be a single mushroom of "something else" in a forest full of A. muscaria. Nothing else grows there as far as I know.

Cool -- I just enlarged the photo and saw those white veil remnants on the low edge of the cap. Nice find. You could also dig around the base and see if it has the volva; I think that would make it a definite ID.

Of course rinseflow has the typical features on his, though I'm pretty sure that's an A. pantherina -- File:2008-10 Amanita pantherina cropped.jpg - Wikimedia Commons

So, it would be really easy to get in a truly 'colorful' ride around those parts!

I'm fairly certain these are Clavariadelphus truncatus, reported to be delicious. I didn't discover them until early September, when they were past their prime.

No idea what this is but it's the biggest one I've ever seen.

From august this year, couldn't believe my eyes. For some reason I still find looking at it deeply disturbing.
