I lived in a in an apartment in San Diego that was built in the 1940's. The single small wall heater did not heat up the whole place and it was obviously under insulated. I sometimes resorted to running the oven with the door slightly ajar and a fan. You do what you gotta do so you dont freeze to death. Yes SD on occasion does get down into the 30's to 40's at night during the winter.

I agree, we just have had some bad situations where people bring in their bbq, and start a trying to get warm.

    I hate the cold!

That's because it's propane which is dangerous with carbon monoxide. And it can start a fire. A gas stove with the door slightly open is fine, costs a fortune though. I finally bought a portable electric heater. That helped in heating the place but was even worse on the electric bill.

Any combustion can/does produce some CO, it's created by a rich mixture, the fuel type doesn't have much to do with whether or not CO is produced.

Oh, you're right about a gas stove even making CO. The color of the flame being orange is dangerous, blue is good, correct?

Orange flame is a rich air fuel mixture for sure. Generally "gas" stoves come with 2 sets of nozzles for the burners, one for natural gas and one for propane. The natural gas nozzles will flow WAY too much propane if you run propane (2' tall flames from your cooktop).

Usually the "other set" of nozzles is stored on a little card on the back side of the stove. in theory the nozzles will only be the correct size for one elevation, but as I've never seen "high altitude" nozzles for gas stoves I'm under the impression that extra CO created due to thinner air at higher elevations isn't enough to worry about.

I'm pretty sure an old couple lives there. Towards the end of the summer the boat was in the street with a 4-sale sign on it. I guess he decided to half store it for the winter.

Yep, I was so intrigued this morning I had to share it here. Still confused on why he did it. Maybe working on the back end or the motor over the winter.

It would have been satisfying if she showed us the photo. I was left hanging wondering. That’s more unsatisfying than satisfying. Maybe the unsatisfying thread would have been more appropriate.

My daughter (15) wanted one for Xmas, bought her a small portable printer instead, she reckons that's better than the Polaroid would've been, lucky for me because my missus wasn't happy when she found out I went to a printer and not the Polaroid.

Saw this today at Ace Hardware. I suppose if you love bikes you would find this satisfying. But this thing is butt-fugly and could probably be used as a recruiting tool by terrorists.

I had friends who actually did that.

In my teens I ran about with twins called Norman and James. They were kinda mental and I don't know if it's a 'twin' thing but when they fought they didn't hold back. They'd throw bottles at each other over minor disagreements. One such argument resulted in one of them throwing a dart into the other's head! I can't remember who threw and who received ;0)
