    Manly Mustache Winter Maintenance

So, there is a bunch of people who ride, all winter long. I noticed a problem the last few bike trips that I wonder if anyone else has had a similar issue and more importantly, a solution.

Your rocking your Manly Handlebar mustache... when the moisture from your breath droops your curl.

What do you do... what do you do?

Seriously though, how do you address winter riding, and long facial hair in a ski mask. Google was little help.

I posted this photo recently, but it obviously bears repeating because you obviously missed it the first time 'round.

You gotta take that mask off, let your breath condense and freeze in the hair, and own that icebeard. Or icestache, as may be your case. If it's above freezing, I don't even know what you're doing with a ski mask in the first place. Probably robbing a bank.

I've made some bad decisions like taking the gears off my bike. So here's the warning: Do not as I say, nor as I do.

let me guess, you have one of these?

I'll just say this - this is not the type of facial hair a man should grow if he is rugged. Styling product does not belong in said facial hair. Facial hair is for protection against the elements (function over fashion), such as cold and UV rays. I let my beard grow out in winter because it keeps my face warm when I ride. Mine looks more like the beard posted in the pic above, though I haven't been so fortunate to grow the ice beard.

Can't help you, I just keep my beard at the low maintenance stubble level.

I was feeling a little depressed about my inability to grow facial hair right up until this post.
    Thanks Judy!

You'll have to use alcohol since that freezes at a lower temperature. Vodka furface.

winter is the time to forego the wax or any product you might otherwise use. Throughout winter, the only thing to go on my beard is Tea Tree Oil. Once the weather dictates ditching the balaclava, then I go back to waxing the stache

No, the alcohol goes in the water bottle/camelback to prevent your water from freezing. I prefer fireball myself. And any dilution works, but it's gotta be about a shot per 24 oz of water, at the very least.

DJ I'm a little bit concerned with exactly what it is you were doing in that pic? I've seen quiet a few videos with ladies in a similar position, lying down on the couch, head back, mouth closed, eyes squinting like they are expecting something that stings to hit them in the eye any second now....

Ha,ha great that's just great. Actually my little 12 year old niece was pestering the crap out of me. She kept snapping off pictures of me and unfortunately that was the masterpiece she came up with. I was lucky enough that she texted that one to me and she deleted all the good ones. Apparently she get's her wise crack attitude from me.

    Do I look irritated.

Nup, you look like you were trying to take a "smouldering sex appeal" selfie to post on a dating site but couldn't hold the camera still
