The Lambrecht Auction LIVE / NEW CARS" from the 50's & 60's

Turn on the history channel now. The Lambrecht auction. A chevy dealer from the fifties & sixties saved 496 cars from that time era They are brand new vehicles that have sat in a field all these years. A live auction is going on now and tomorrow. Time capsule vehicles with the majority having 20 miles or less. Sure some are basically rotted away but still pretty cool. It's a mystery why he saved all these cars all these years instead of selling them. Lambrecht auto auction: Classic Chevrolets on sale in Pierce, Ne. - NY Daily News

Ah, I see. No premium channels for us here. They want too much $$$ for that. I'm watching the Dodgers now.

I tried to watch it, I really did but couldn't take all the excitement over rusted out junk with low mileage. The announcers didn't help things either. I left the TV on and heard them find an Aussie woman to talk to anyway. I walked in and looked at it, and the announcers were all acting like horndogs replying to the only woman posting on a car forum.

Yep I tuned out pretty early on for the same reasons. I just thought it was fascinating that most of the cars were brand new and sat for so many years. And nobody even his family knew why he held onto them instead of selling them. Sorry people I assumed the show would have been more entertaining and just wanted to share it with you.

the weird part is the guy was a dealer all through the muscle car era, and he collected farm trucks and 4-doors.

Well...$2.5M! that's a lot of dough for a bunch of rust buckets. WVBob, I think there were no muscle cars because only the ones that didn't sell by the time the new ones came in were taken home along with some trade ins.

I did like some of these pickups though. That little red one is cute.

Ha,ha Girl did you just say " that little red one is cute". I bet back in the early sixties he said "I think I'll save that little red pickup for 50 years, it's cute".
