    L.A. area fishing (party boat)

Can anyone recommend a good company for 1/2 day ocean fishing in the L.A. area? one that provides a full rig

Yes he's the local fisherman of these waters. It's been many years but I went off of Point Loma / San Diego which gets down in to Mexican waters. I know Hawg has done these trips as well from Point Loma. A drive down to San Diego then a charter out.

A good outfit from what I remember.

Like everybody else says, Hawg will be the go to source on this. I'm a little confused crewjones, do you want a booze cruise or a charter fishing excursion?

Ah, that makes sense. Sounds like you must be visiting LA for pleasure.

For some reason I thought you were a full time East coast guy.

You can take the kid outta Jersey but you can't take the Jersey out of the Kid. I love the west coast though. Which is why i've stayed for so long... I don't think i'd be able to move back at this point

I have been a fishing fanatic all my life and I've fished on pretty much every boat in the Los Angeles County fleet. For a half day boat, my first suggestion is 22nd Street landing. Their boat, "Monte Carlo" is huge and spacious and comfortable to fish on. Second choice would be Marina Del Rey sportfishing, aboard the boat "New Del Mar". It's also huge and roomy. Most any landing will offer rod rentals and needed tackle. Avoid Channel Islands Sportfishing's half day boat "Speed Twin".

Be forewarned . . . I went on one of those boats Hawg recommended and I woke up in the bait box down a kidney.
Alcohol may lead nowhere, but it sure is the scenic route!
