Terrapins here but I always stop and move them off the trail ... it's usually a dilemma figuring out which side of the trail to put them down on though. I wonder if they get pissed off when I put them down on the wrong side, costing them 5 minutes of walking to get back to the other side.

    You like Turtles, too.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that most people have never really considered whether or
not they like/dislike turtles. That said, they should
do a little research before they off up their hard-
    earned reputation.
I love turtles and snakes and lizards and frogs and salamanders yaa yata yata. If it's a creature I love it. Just yesterday I saw 3 deer 8 Elk 2 Bighorn sheep and a fox. No turtles though, bummer.

Perhaps you could join Hawg and Tone's in the BR? It' might get a little crowded with the deer and the sheep, tho.
And to think I was just about to take Tones suggestion and rep away.

Ok, back to the topic at hand...

I like Turtles so much that I named this line
Tortuga (before I ever even knew how much I liked
    them).

Nice line in the no bike talk off topic forum. Back to topic at hand. Turtles are hard to figure out sometimes. In otherwards they are a hard shell to crack.

Especially Snapping Turtles or their big cousin the Alligater Snapper. As a kid we used to catch Snapping turtles that were 12" - 18" in diameter. They are a mean species and can easily take your fingers off. We used to hold a broom stick in front of them and they would snap it in half with one bite.

You could get that damned fish out then.

It might help with getting rings off as well.

I do too and also off the roads.
No dilemma in figuring out which side to move them though. I move them the direction they are facing.

So true! but a Snapping Turtle is a predator and will snap and bite anything. And young boys will be boys. How cool is it for a young boy to see a turtle snap a broom stick in half.

Sure you got your measurement units right Tone's, aren't Aussie metric? So that'd be 18 cm, nothing to brag about.
