    Homemade Christmas Presents

Rather than trying to find gifts that my older family members don't need I decided to put together some potted plants for some of them (parents, grandparents, aunts..). So I ran to Home Depot and picked up some random pots, soil, and a bunch of different succulents and cacti. Turned out pretty good.

    Cool idea,Gordon! Those look great!

One Christmas many years ago I had a similar idea.Instead of running around spending $$$ on stuff my family members didn't care about,I made them birdhouses.I went around to spots in the hills where people would dump their crap.I gathered up a bunch of old weathered wood and built about 6 different birdhouses.I used some paint and hardware I had laying around. The only thing I spent was time, and a little gas finding the wood.Everyone loved that I took the time to make something, instead of just buying a gift from a store.

Thanks everyone for the comments/compliments. Other than Jim Beam, you sir would get a backhand from my 88 year old grandmother for that jackass comment.

Going to get some rocks to cover the soil with after work and will post the final product.

Yes that is about as low of a comment that one could have made. Merry Christmas jackass Jim Beam.

I was thinking the same thing. Those arrangements are outstanding, I could use one of them to brighten up my porch.
