Thanks so much for the heads-up. I remember seeing Jimi in San Diego at the Sports Arena. Not his best show, far from the best acoustics, but it was a formative experience for me. 400 mikes of very pure Orange Sunshine likely had something to do with it.....

And did he have a gun in his hand?

Grrr, missed it. It is on a bunch of times in my local area during the next week or so.

    Here's how you can check:

Schedule | American Masters | PBS

I saw Buddy Guy live a few months ago (standing room only!) at a small venue in Northern, VA. Man, he's still GOT IT at 77 years of age. He rocked the house and laid it DOWNNNN. If you get the chance to go see him, I highly recommend doing so.

Oh, man, his latest, Rhythm & Blues is a SMOKIN' 2-disc set of energetic blues-rock. Guys 40, 50 years younger would cut off their slide finger to play like he does at 77. Got some killer guests on it, too, altho I could do without the screeching of Steven Tyler on 'Evil Twin'.

Only thing that bugs me about R&B is while it's a 2-disc set, there's a jam song on there that doesn't last very long and is pretty useless. If they had taken that off, it would have been a one-disc album. Oh, well. It was reasonably priced.

Good call. Hope they come out with a live DVD of him on this tour! And thanks for the PBS link. Hope it comes on earlier next time.

Edit: More info and reviews in this thread: Jimi Hendrix Tuesday night PBS American Masters

Buddy Guy is still going strong! I saw him in 1993 at the Masonic Temple in Toronto (he was playing with John Mayall)
He's scheduled to play Massey Hall in April 2014! He is a legend

No.......I'm sure it was a guitar..........but then the music became like a haze, rising from his guitar, and it drifted to the back of the arena, where it condensed into a fluorescent liquid, and poured down the steps of the aisle I was sitting next to. I could see where the stuff stained the cuff of my jeans for hours, and then, poof...it went away. It was a long night...

Glad you liked it. It was, as I'm sure you know, totally fictional. As a law-abiding, tax-paying citizen, I would not behave is such an irresponsible manner, even as a teenager.
