    Help! My internet is broken.

No joke, it actually is. I consistently get screens like this, where images don't work. Sometimes refreshing the page fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. This happens most often on this site, but there are also sometimes issues on Facebook. I can open the image in a new tab and it's there just fine. Other sites load images just fine. The video player on the browser is also screwed up. It won't buffer, won't ever play sound. On another browser (Torch) videos play just fine. I'm using Chrome on Windows 7. I was able to load up a thread in Passion on Internet Explorer without any issues -- all 10000 photos are there on the page.

    Any simple fixes?

Clear the browsing history, cookies etc. And get yourself some adblock.

Dump the cache in ALL of your browsers. Dump cookies and history in Internet Options. Do a Disc Cleanup. Scan "C" with your main security system. Scan again with another security program (one that's not continuously running on your system).

    Help! My internet is broken.

    Your internet is not broken.
    It's full
Pull the data cable out from the wall and let some drain out. It's best to drain it into a garbage can. You don't want that stuff on your carpets.
You won't actually be able to see the internet draining out, but don't worry. It's there. Just hold the cable over the garbage can for a couple hours, then plug back in. Should be go to go then.

Hopefully I can get in a few more words before I hit the actual end of the internet. Cleared everything from Torch and Chrome and it looks like everything is working again. Except I still can't hear the audio from DJ's video. Anyone kn

Apparently the internets took revenge and suspended Bros privileges.

Just kidding it's still broken, still can't see images. My internet comes through the air, so I'm not sure how I can empty it that way. I scanned everything with both Norton and Sophos and they couldn't find anything bad. Both Windows and Chrome are up to date too, I just updated them very recently.

It seems like it's only this site and Facebook that are giving me issues. Other media-heavy sites like online news with lots of photos and videos work fine.

Almost certainly a browser problem. If it works OK in IE but not Chrome. Possibly a Chrome update that's buggy. Facebook is served through a secure connection (https: instead of http: ) if you're getting mtbr through a secure connection, that could be your problem. I can't help you with Chrome's security settings. I don't use it.

Chrome used to work great for me. It's only been maybe the past week or two that it's been screwing up.

And TN, I'm using mtbr on a http connection, not secure.

Yes, sounds like a browser issue. The fact that you recently updated supports this, too. I find that when my browser(s) update, there are some incompatibility issues for a short time that need to be sorted out. Do try Firefox and see what happens.

If it's a Chrome update issue and it's effecting Facebook, they should have a patch pretty quick. Those people who use Facebook will be panicing by now. It may surprise you (or not) how many people think Facebook IS the internet.

I'm fairly certain that this has been occurring since before the last time I updated Chrome, and that I updated in the hopes of fixing it. So I'm not sure any updates from Google would have much to do with this.

Try uninstalling chrome, then reinstalling it fresh. Should take all of 10 minutes.

Worth a shot. It may fix the issue with Chrome, if yer dead set on using it.

If you haven't reinstalled as Net mentioned, try incognito mode. If it works in this mode, then the problem is either an extension, plug-in or toolbar.

So I've been on the forum for about twenty minutes now. In that time, all the images that were supposed to show up have been there and I've had no issues. Last night I closed Chrome and closed the computer, this morning I opened the computer and opened Chrome, haven't changed anything or reinstalled or tried Incognito or anything else. Computers are weird. If it continues to work, thanks to everyone for the moral support. If it breaks again, I'll first try Incognito and then reinstalling if it's still broken after that.
