AO has got Shimano XT M8000 race pedals on the way. Lucky girl.

I just busted out a new pair of Shimano clipless shoes, too. I had two brand new pair in storage and my current shoes were well worn.

I also have a Giro Feature MIPS all mountain helmet on it's way. The color is scary bright.

What my crappy cell phone picture?

Check out 4:17 of that video. I went off a jump and that's where my main pivot bolt broke. It started shifting funny and I assumed it was just a der adjustment. I kept riding to get out of the rain and checked it out later when I got home. Sure enough the bolt was broken on the inside of the frame out of sight. The only way I knew was the bolt just spun while trying to tighten it, yet the nut on the other side remained still. After later viewing this video I realized that's where it broke.

I remember the day that happened.

You do realize that without knowing, every bump/drop/jump you did after that bolt broke was torture on your poor bike, don't you?

I had work and then scouts to 9PM tonight, so I'm just getting to sit down for the day. Given this thread has had a title change, I'll consider getting back into the game.

I started a new running training program to get me ready for winter fat biking. Day 1, yesterday, was tough. My knee was killing me. Opti harassed me into changing shoes, so I did. Hmm, knee doesn't hurt. I still have a knee issue but maybe I can hobble along for a little while longer.

Tonight's run was supposed to be 15 minutes in zone 2. Well, that was kind of a wimpy run so I took Lucy along with me. While she sucks as a biking companion, she makes a nice running companion. When Folly was in his prime, he wanted to mark everything. At a 100 pounds, when he stopped to mark, he would pull your arm off. Lucy is a dainty 70 pounds and wants to run for the sake of running. I can see her going on many more trips this fall.

Tomorrow's run is a bit more intense, but at the moment, I'm thinking I picked too low of an intensity for the running plan. We'll see.

I'm just double quoting so that Hawg sees the proper credit.

And yes, guilty as charged for skimming over that post

In other confessions: I will honestly say when I saw DJ's post I was shocked. I moused over the image to see if he had done it correctly. When I found that he did, I moved along and then I saw that Net must have given a clue. Peace was in the world once again, so I skipped the video

My local Tour de Cure posted a few pictures of the event on Facebook. Here I am after the 62 miles. I hadn't pushed much on the trip and I'm relieved to see I didn't look like I was run over by a truck. But, like a good Strava turd, the picture of me is screwing around with my Garmin

Glad your knee feels better heyyall. For me, after a dozen pair of different shoes, I finally settled on Asics Kayano or the GT 2000 series. Kayanos are more solid feeling, but are also heavier.

A few pics from Saturday's adventure, none of the fort pics look all that impressive.

Yes, it was definitely moon overload. I have a series of underexposed lunar photographs that I want to merge into a single image. Photoshop isn't cooperating so I'm going to get to some journal reviews before it gets too late. If anyone hasn't seen the blood moon, I have about 200 shots of b-roll.

Nice pics, opti. Those little lizards are odd looking. By chance is this one responding to a casting call for the next Geico commercial?

Opti, looks like a great day. Nice lizard collection. Looks like a Round-tailed horned lizard in the first pic and I am stumped with the second lizard??? How embarrassing!

Heyyall, glad to hear the the new shoes are helping

Net, thanks for the compliment on AO.

Since it's raining today, here are some pics of the lake a couple miles from the house. This is the same lake that I can do a lunch run and mtb too. IMBA stopped by and we are working on a beginner trail at the head of the lake.

The fishing isn't bad there. I've caught some large mouth bass. I know there are a lot of turtles and bluegill. I haven't tried to catch any catfish and I haven't seen any carp. I don't fish it as much as I should. The bass were everywhere in July. They were laying right against the bank.

DJ, once you're gone for the evening, and then when you log back on the next day, you don't pick up where you left off, do you?

You just read about 4 or 5 posts back and start responding?

    This explains a lot.

11.8 sec & 118 mph 1/4 mile, handles as well as it goes. There's faster out there, but they are few and far between. I have to say in all honesty that I have only been beaten once, by a 2003ish Z06, and I held him off till about 123 mph. If the road is curvy I walk away from everybody.

My new helmet is a road helmet so it lacks a the small visor. I really miss the visor now as the sun is staying low to the ground.

As for gloves, the picture tells all. I used arm warmers and not gloves. Actually, I had my windstopper shell gloves on for most of the ride.

Yes. I haven't seen it for a couple of nights, so maybe it slipped back out under the dooor.

Not true, I always start where I left off. However I was at the end of my lunch hour when I checked the last two pages of this insanely fast moving thread. I don't have the luxury of reading this thread post by post during my work hours like some people. Besides I seem to be the only one that owns it when I do skim a post or two.
