    Fabulous tunes everyone! Today was the hottest day of the year... really felt like summer. We were riding and i had a few songs playing in my head

    Here's a tune by a band that may not be known outside of Toronto. When it came out in 1980, I couldn't get enough of it!

    I've always been partial to that "Walk With an Erection" song, by The Bangles. Seeing the young lasses walking through town in their skimpy summer clothing can do that to a fella.

    Actually yes the,Bangles sang "Walk Like An Egyptian" and yes the lead singer was absolutely beautiful. But there was a spoof on that song called "Walk With An Erection".     We spent a summer in Aurora , CO. way back in 1976 after my StepFather died of cancer.
    We were with his Brother and family.
    Every day we'd listen to Fleetwood Mac 'Rumors' and everyday the Lightning would start up in the afternoon and be gone before dark. We'd get chairs out in the back lawn and watch. I was 10, learned to ride a huge Schwinn 10 speed that summer.
    Maybe it's not a " Summertime" song so much. But I sure get alot of Memories from that summer when I heard a song from it.

    Anything by Billy Idol

    Not on the list, but I agree that almost anything from the Go-Go's is a great summer song.

    Very late to the party with this one but I'll chip in with two iconic aussie bands, one most of you will know, the other most will never have heard of.

    First up, Midnight Oil. Sydney Northern Beaches band that started as a pub band and made it big and then got political. Front man Peter Garret went on to become a politician. MAny rate 10 to 1 as their best album, google 10, 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1, for me Bird Noises was when they were at their best, followed closely by Head Injuries

    CAn't tell you the number of times I saw them at uni gigs or down at Selena's at the Coogee Bay Hotel.

    The next one I never got to see but were another local Sydney band, The Sunnyboys. One self titled album of note which saw them shoot to fame here before the pressure of performing and their rapid rise got too much for their front man who then pretty much withdrew from public life.     man everytime I play one clip up pops a whole heap of other songs that take me back to summer days growing up in Sydney.

    Icehouse, Great Southern LAnd, (they were better when they were The Flowers)
