    "half marathon"

Is that like half an orgasm? How about an eighth marathon?

It's a marathon or it isn't. Walk it if you must. But don't attach the name of a stout achievement to your 13-mile run. The spirit of Pheidippides is insulted.

    Mike

A half marathon is a stout achievement in itself.

I ran once. It was horrible.
I've made some bad decisions like taking the gears off my bike. So here's the warning: Do not as I say, nor as I do.

Every distance is hard if you try to win it. The 400 meters used to almost kill me!

    "half marathon"

I don't like to run because it's painful.
Ok, I could have stopped at the word run.

My wife does full and half marathons. Atleast one full, and 3-4 halfs a year.
She has got my 9yr old daughter running. The little one is doing a running program to get ready for a Marafun Run during the California International Marathon. She is running 2.62 miles. What do you call that? A tenth marathon?

Pheidippides doesn't care. He never ran a marathon or even a half-marathon.

I don't run because regardless of the distance my legs always feel like they have run a half marathon and when I stop my gut keeps moving till its run the full marathon.

Stout is a relative term. Marathon isn't.

'Scuse me while I do a 678th of a marathon to my car and drive to work. Cuz I'm a marathon'er, by gosh.
