I had high hopes and many plans to investigate a multitude of "Rock Art" sites in central/ southern Utah on our 10 day trip to visit my mother in Phoenix, AZ and back, over Thanksgiving week, but it was not to be after winter storm "Boreas" reeked havoc on the area.
Many to most of the secondary roads and trails were buried under 6-8" of snow around Moab when we arrived, with 12-24" of snow still on the ground, just south of town, on our way to AZ. Everything from Flagstaff, AZ , north to the Utah border was still buried in snow or was standing water, on the drive down, and not much better on the way back, so many to most of our off pavement options were severely limited.
The one benefit of all of the moisture and cool temps was that on our one afternoon spent hiking the Sonoran Desert, the grass and forbs were actually green, even in late November !!
I finally finished sifting through too many images to chose from, and came up with this video of the ~ 12 sites we were able to visit.
