    Good news!

If the past is any indicator, OC'ers are probably some of the smartest people out there.

Smarter people drink more, study says
I've made some bad decisions like taking the gears off my bike. So here's the warning: Do not as I say, nor as I do.

I drank a lot when I was young but never felt too smart about it when I'd wake up the next day.
When you get older, much of your hate comes from knowledge and experience, which is why really old people hate everyone

There goes the "drinking kills brain cells" theory.

I don't drink often but when I do, it's in excess. Therefore, I am dumb most of the time and brilliant once in a while if I understand this correctly.

    Good news!

Cliff Clavin said it best -

Well ya see, Norm, it's like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers." ~ Cliff Clavin, Cheers

I keep telling my wife that—every day—before/during/after every beer… she doesn’t believe it though. I had a MENSA certified score of 149 before I got married, I am sure now that after having kids it’s down by at least 30 points though. Raising kids makes your brain get stupid.
