How are the headaches hawgs? They should be gone by tomorrow depending on how bad your addiction was.

I did it two years ago. Not nice at first - headaches, then feeling dopey for a few weeks. But my stomach has been thanking me ever since. I can eat almost anything now without a problem. And now I drink tea - proper leafy tea that needs to be brewed in a pot - highly recommended 'hawg!

When I broke the coffee habit last year I started by blending regular with decaf and just upped the proportion of decaf until it was 100%. Did it over a couple of weeks, with no side effects.

I used fancy tea to help me break my coffee habit. Grab some caffeinated, like green and black, and grab some nice uncaffeinated like chamomile and herbal as well. Lipton doesn't count unless you already like Lipton, spend some money at a shop that sells decent tea. Good quality tea is really something special. For a first timer, Starbucks Tazo China Green is pretty good, other flavors are iffy.

After I broke my addiction to espresso, easing off tea was really easy and I found myself not minding some cheap iced tea in place of soda or coffee

The rest of the world is a "day late, and a dollar short".... mate!

Feeling a bit of concern for the bros and sista's in the Eastern half, huge storm there.

Here, we have a threat of rain but the interesting thing is that our snow level is going to drop down to as low as 2000-2500' which could coat all the surrounding hills and mountains in the white, powdery stuff. Pics to follow if that happens...

Happy Friday friends, be careful out there!

I made it into work... because there was hardly any traffic! However there were many many fender benders

I wish I chose teaching as a career instead of health care... classes are always cancelled when the weather gets bad.

That storm dumped 2 1/2 inches of rain on us yesterday, that works out to at least 25 inches of snow. Good luck guys, good luck.

And in other news, HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

Middle Georgia. It dumped on us and then got caught in the westerlies and flew up the appalachians to the north east. I would've slowed it down till it had shed most of it's rain before moving on if I could have. We could use a drought-ending rain and the northeast does not need to be a weather punching bag.

State of emergency now in MA where i'm currently squatting. we're not even allowed to drive or you could get in legal trouble. seems a little premature, but i guess the plows will be needing people off the roads. they are comparing it to the blizzard of 78, but who knows, i'll believe it when i see it. I was really getting into the swing of riding too. 2-3 feet of snow will take a long time to pack down. I guess the storm that was blowing across the midwest is colliding with a coastal storm, and merging into a monstrocity

Wait a minute! How are you going to compare this one to the blizzard of 78?

I remember I walked about 2 miles into town for smokes in the middle of that one. The only reason I could see where I was going & didn't get lost is because the hydro wires were at eye level.

Nicole, You do have a snowmobile right. I know when I lived in upstate N.Y. as a kid my family had three of them. Whenever a blizzard hit we would go out and rescue stranded motorists. Oh wait a minute your governor won't even let any of you drive a car. I guess your stuck inside for awhile. You best take AZ's advice and stock up and look down.

Is it me or is there a giant blizzard every single year now in the east coast. Ugh. drink lots. If it doesn't make you feel warmer, at least you'll pass out and forget you were cold.

AZ, you got it all wrong mate. We cruised through a fantastic Friday, full sun, about 28 degrees, that's Celsius, ended with usual Friday beer and pizza, woke to a cracker Saturday, full sun and about 30 degrees, yes that's still Celsius, and we go to sleep tonight safe in the knowledge that we have about an 18hr jump on you for seeing the next Friday first.

Have you got some salt for your drive? Over here we save it for the potato scallops.

we had no snow last year. it was bizarre, but great for us bikers! actually, we DID have that freak storm on Halloween that caused all those outages. that did suck. every few years there is a newsworthy one.

Then lock them outside with their scooters/ skateboards/ basketball/ sticks. The important part is the locking outside thing. You are being a 'good parent' by forcing them to play outside and be fit, and you also get some alone time! Win/ win

...you could also lock them outside with a bike anyways and hope a miracle happens

Stage an intervention. You can't live like that, they can't live like that. It's no good for anyone.
I'm enjoying my childhood way too much to ever give it up.

    Yee Haa ………Friday!!

    AZ, what truck races?

My Friday starts out awesome, I took a day off of work. My brother and his GF flew into Colorado last night from San Diego. To join my sister her BF and her kids and myself. On a weekend ski trip to Breckenridge. With 6"-8" fresh powder things should be epic. Heading out later today with dinner out in Breckenridge then a party in the condo.

    Friday!

I did my good deed for the month today. I snowblowed my driveway and my two new neighbors' driveways this morning. We ended up with about 8 inches of snow overnight and the snow plow left about 20 inches at the end of the driveway.

It's rare I get a weekend off, but I get Saturday only off this week, and will be pounded for the rest of it relentlessly with overtime. Any days off afterwards will be spent sleeping.

Perfect timing, however. Looks like the rest of the parts for my build will be here Saturday! I hope I get everything early enough to get a test ride in before it gets dark

I feel like a kid on christmas eve!!

I don't want to work I want to bang on the drum all day I don't want to play I just want to bang on the drum all day
Ever since I was a tiny boy I don't want no candy, I don't need no toy I took a stick and an old coffee can I bang on that thing 'til I got blisters on my hand
Because I don't want to work I want to bang on the drum all day I don't want to play I just want to bang on the drum all day
When I get older they think I'm a fool The teacher told me I should stay after school She caught me pounding on the desk with my hands But my licks was so hot I made the teacher wanna dance
And that's why I don't want to work I want to bang on the drum all day I don't want to play I just want to bang on the drum all day
I don't want to work I want to bang on the drum all day I don't want to play I just want to bang on the drum all day
Listen to this every day when I get home from work I feel so frustrated the boss is a jerk And I get my sticks and go out to the shed And I pound on that drum like it was the boss's head
Because I don't want to work I want to bang on the drum all day I don't want to play I just want to bang on the drum all day
I don't want to work I want to bang on the drum all day I don't want to play I just want to bang on the drum all day

My Friday will be quite somber. A neighbor of ours was killed in a terrible car accident yesterday. He leaves behind 2 daughters and a wife.

Yeah, it was really tough yesterday. I manage the complex we live in. While trying to get through a local canyon to start my work day, I found that the road was closed due to an traffic accident. I went around to get to my destination. After I was finished with work in that area, I tried to go back through that canyon but it was still closed. That usually indicates that there was a fatality involved. Then a few minutes later, I received a call from the Coroners office that they needed to talk to a neighbor in our complex as soon as possible. My heart sank. I had a feeling right away about it. I left the neighbor a message with the contact number. When I got home I could hear hysterical crying coming from their home. I checked Google images for that accident and sure enough, it was his car crushed badly. Two other vehicles were involved also. So sad.

Bike didn't get done a couple weeks ago. It's ok, haven't had any time to ride anyways. I think I would have gone mad if I didnt ride to work! Been sprinting on the way, tracking speed. I get faster every few weeks. That keeps the spirit up!

I have sunday off, so I may be able to finish the build. Dont want to spend $50 converting all the cable stops on my frame for hydro hose and full length housing, so the big Sunday project is to dremel out the stops! Hope it goes well! After that, I most likely will need to trim the brake lines, though I really am hoping to be able to get away with them running a bit long for a while. Riding season around here is right now, and by the end of May it will be too hot to ride. Plenty of time to tweak everything during off season!

    I miss having proper Fridays
