Every day at about 9:15 pm PST...

It's like clock work, this place suddenly becomes dead silent. As though something switches off human life at the same time every night.

It's LA . . . the whole damn city shuts down after dark. I've been to a lot of places, and maybe I'm just not going to the right parts of town, but this is the sleepiest town I've ever lived in. There is very, very little nightlife here. Maybe its because everyone gets up at the asscrack of dawn to exercise.
Alcohol may lead nowhere, but it sure is the scenic route!

I remember staying in downtown San Fran and the same thing happened there - no people, no cars, nothing. Best to stay indoors

The city goes to sleep bright and early. It's a shame, really.

There are too many Easterners on this board. And they all go to sleep too damn early, too.

Also, Hawg, it's Daylight Savings right now. I'm sure you meant to say 9:15 PM PDT?

It's high summer... anyone who lives in the heat knows that you GO TO BED before 9 pm so you can get up and ride before the worst heat... at least that's what I do, but then I am old and have cats that want FOOD at 4 am...

The Easterners are doing their part by staying up to keep it alive well in to the night. I actually kinda like the way things get quiet here at night (outside) in the West because there is just too damned many people and it's a wonder things can even settle down at all. But that's outdoors, I'm talking about people in the West not staying up late to push on the key board like the Easterners do. I do not think it's the weather because this happens in all months of the year.

Bro, there's actually a "PST" and a "PDT" for those of us who practice daylight savings?! Really?

I understand the abbreviations, my question was isn't Pacific Time always "PST" regardless of whether or not DLS is in action? In other words, are there two different Pacific Time Zones depending on the time of the year?

Maybe, but it would appear that all the socks are out living the night life for sure, because even they disappear by 9:15PM.
