    Duplicate threads for Dummies

The most important thing to know about duplicate threads is not to get intimidated by their sheer numbers. In reality, they are easily navigated. Even a child can conquer them. Just go here:

Table of Contents - Your Guide to Duplicate Threads

If the above does not clear up all your questions, feel free to seek out these main research sources:

Now a message from this thread's sponsor. I can only condone the direction this thread has taken because it's Memorial Day Weekend, and there are only about 5 of us in the OC until Monday night when the other 5 people will return. Once the OC hits full attendance, I expect this thread to go quietly into that good night. For now, I will edit the OP to just to confuse folks further. Pardon the interruption. Let's carry on:

Do you guys believe in a place on the other side of the universe with a planet exactly like ours, with one of the exact same people as each of us are here, doing the exact same thing at the exact same time, living and working exactly the same as their duplicate residing across the Universe?

Yep. It's called Pinkbike. But, then, I believe in a multi-verse, so I have to include Ridemonkey.

Ok, then how can you be sure that you really are where you think you are and not in some duplicate dimension instead? This is it, right, the place to be? Well, what if "it" is really the other place???

Doesn't matter. Think of the multi-verse as a stack of animation stills. On each is drawn the exact same picture. Flip through them in rapid succession. Nothing happens. Doesn't matter who drew each of the pictures in the stack. Even if you remove one, and allow it to exist on its own, it won't change the stack because the stack is infinite.

Oh, so you claim that there is not only one exact existence to each or our own somewhere else, but many, all exactly the same, all exactly happening simultaneously?

OMG TY!!!!! this finally and unequivicably explains why my second and third pancakes are freaking ALWAYS bigger than the bloody first one making for an inverted short stack.

In the multi-verse in which you exist, yes, every second and third pancake are bigger than the first one.

"Oh, so you claim that there is not only one exact existence to each or our own somewhere else, but many, all exactly the same, all exactly happening simultaneously?"--Hawg

Yes, so long as we can agree not to get too caught up with the idea of a stack. That's just to simplify. The drawing on each still in the stack is sufficient enough to confuse us as it allows us the perception of agency.

Now, if we were able to move freely between stills, we might detect differences. Or non-exactness. But to the being--if we want to call it that--flipping the stack of stills, the one with the giant thumb, it would all appear the same.

I thought the universe was made like this: When you have a decision to make the universe splits, one for each way the decision is made.

Like if you had to choose between pancakes and french toast, the universe would split. One direction for the pancakes, one for the french toast, and one for both.

I faced this very universe split just the other day. I ended up on the french toast left side. As the
universe split I saw the pancakes disappear into
the black hole of space. Luckily I had my trusty
flashlight, and after eating the french toast I searched the right side of the universe and found 3 pancakes. The scariest part of the whole ordeal
is knowing there is a loose pancake floating about.
A future catastrophic encounter with the earth is
inevitable. After much thought I figured I may as
well forwarn the worlds top scientists, so they can
come up with a female name for the future
    pancake earth collision.

    Duplicate threads for Dummies

You can keep the universe ending splitting from occurring by connecting the French toast to the pancakes with a generous pool of maple syrup.

Duplicate pancakes in the Duplicate Threads For Dummies thread. Just add duplicate butter and syrup and we're good.
