    Done!

Mark one item off my list of things to do to finish my degree. I did my seminar this morning and my defense.

The seminar went well, got some positive feedback from it.

The defense wasn't too tough. But they didn't take it easy on me, either. I was answering questions the entire 2 hours of the defense of my work. But in the end, my committee all agreed to sign off on my work.

Now for about a month of making some edits to my thesis document to polish things up.

On another note, related to the "do you still have it" thread, apparently I still do but I have to work for it. Walking around in my suit and with a fresh shave and haircut (styled with product, even), I was getting a lot of looks from undergrad chicks today. Maybe they were "damn he looks ridiculous" looks, but I'll continue to think otherwise for my self esteem.

Congratulations on your defense! I'm sure you were working your butt off nonstop for quite awhile to make it happen. Now for the big exhale. I'm assuming you're in the sciences of some sort; I thought it was always amusing to see my peers (and myself) get all fancied up for the first time in years when it came time to defend. Hope you have a little downtime to relax and do something besides thesis work-like take a bike ride.

WTG Nate! My Lady is doing something that sounds very similar & she's a basket case about it. She doesn't do well speaking in public when swear words aren't allowed.

Is your degree going to be in wordworking? Why? Because you hit the nail squarely with the hammer here

brutal. I didn't get a single question from the general audience for my seminar, but that's not too unusual. I've sat in on a few seminars from friends and there's usually nothing from the general audience.

    lol

I got to use some skills I learned making mtb vids in my presentation. I used Sony Vegas to make a short vid for my slideshow. I think I'm the first to do something like that in my seminar, which partially explains the positive response I got.

just a bobcat. they're pretty leggy and weight-wise are not all that different from coyotes (southern coyotes, at least - northern ones are bigger).

here are a couple examples. both are about the same distance from the camera.
