Thanks Trev, it worked. No more of a grumpy Korn attitude on that issue.

I didn't read ALL the answers.. but same here! Sometimes I get 2 bags for $5.99 at Stater Brothers. (Colombian and occasionally something dark)

Except, I usually have 4-5 cups in the morning. Most days, I will have 1 or 2 in the late afternoon.

I do go to the actual Starbucks on occasion.

I can't have caffeine after about noon or it will screw up my normal night's sleep.

I'll sometimes get it from the coffee shop. I always have a auto brew of organic fine ground dark roast in the morning. A cup in the morning before my morning spin and then I fill a 24oz thermos to go to work. I generally get through that by noon. We also have two Keurig's in the hallway, so I'll hit one of those in the afternoon if it's been a particularly crazy day.

Look at the screen shot. Both sound setting are ready to go and still no sound. Do you get sound with that one?

Those MP4s have no sound that I'm aware of, you need to find the video sauce (Google Fu) for that.

This is what I'm talking about, DJim. Not only does this sound confusing, it completely overlooks the explanation I gave above.

It’s not confusing at all. Go read it again and I bet all will make sense. I didn’t overlook your post but you posted later than Jcd and my question was answered by him. Although yours answered the question it lagged in timing.

    I'm tapering off coffee now.
It's halfway into my shift and I will nap in the morning, have lunch with some family guests then get out for a bike ride around 2pm. I'll be lucky to manage 4 hours of sleep so it's decafe if anything else tonight.

I'm wondering if I can try a day or two or ? w/o (if I can remember) to see if it has any effect. It would be good and at least interesting to know.

Spend a week +/- a couple days weaning yourself by mixing caf & decaf and progressively reducing the caf to zero.

I can only speak for myself but this has worked for me (no headaches when stopped drinking it altogether). I did this a while back as an experiment to see if I could get my wonky heart valve to behave better on rides. Caffeine (in moderation) turned out to not be the issue, so I happily fell back off the wagon.

I'll take up some decaf every once in a while and when I do, it's almost always related to knowing I'm having some Joe close enough to a nap time that it might be a good idea. I've never thought too seriously about that other than a few hours window but I've seen others mention no coffee after noon. If that's someone who sleeps at night like after 8 or 9 pm .... WOW !!
I hope I'm not tanking my sleep at all.

Maybe that's a good reason to wean and experiment. I could say No Coffee or regular anyways after 2am on days I'll expect to crash around 730 or 8 am. Now days, I might be 2 - 3 hours 'clean' before rest.

Coincidentally, I think I discovered my recommended daily allowance that causes the legendary morning ritual.

I woke up at 1:30 and couldn't get back to sleep, so 5 cups of strong brew later -- kablooey.

I did pull the trigger on a new frame, though. That's what was keeping me awake -- too many what-ifs.

One of the gals at work has been making us Cafecito (Cuban espresso) shots every afternoon this week. So good! I could easily down a dozen and not sleep for a few days (I've been stopping at two). She included this with her invitation to partake:

Two cups every morning, then switch over to water until after 5PM. May or may not have a beer from there until bed time, water other than that.

Heres a question for the Cali scientists: If a person bought the coffee, and made the coffee in Cali, but then they put it in a thermos and traveled to Arizona, and didn't consume any until they crossed the state line, would it still cause cancer?

So when you say "a cup of coffee", do you really mean a mug of coffee, which actually seems to be two cups of coffee? I think of a cup of coffee as being a mug but if I look on the coffee pot, it's closer to two cups.

    I'm not sure if I drink 3-4 a day or 6-8.

    I’m a venti cup-O-day, coffee house type.

In a mug or in a cup it looks like this. A 20 oz. experience.

Still on my coffee kick. Starbucks just launched a new lid for their cold drinks. Sip it or use a straw, pretty good ingenuity here. I hate straws so this new lid got me all giddy and I had to share. No more removing the lid to sip without a straw. That’s going to save a lot of time I can use elsewhere.

I'm straight up addicted to Starbucks and I'm not ashamed. I'm a two trenta cold brew drinker a day. I'm going to school full time online, so after work about four or five nights a week I'm at Starbucks studying. I drink a trenta while I'm studying, and get a refill to take home and put in the fridge for the next morning. On mornings I don't have a cold brew in the fridge, it's a 30 oz Yeti tumbler full of dark roast. I also drink about a gallon of water a day to flush my system.
    I wouldn't **** you, you're my favorite turd.

Starbucks is the only coffee I buy, but I make it at home. Sometimes I go into the store but its rare.

Surprisingly I like the Junk in the Box Ice Coffee original, I usually never touch fast food coffee, this one is good. (with a couple of their I dunno what's in there delicious tacos)

    We're talking about coffee here.

Supposedly the Army has developed an algorithm for coffee consumption which can result in as much as a 64% increase in alertness. I read the article and they do admit to the existence of the algorithm, but at no point in the article do they provide any sort of mathematical formulae that would allow us citizens to maintain that alertness level. Probably has something to do with State secrets, like the British Navy hiding the fact they used Limes to ward off Scurvy.

WTH, I pay taxes and want to be more alert dangit! I got a 5yr old who will be home all summer long and I need to keep up. If he runs away I can get sued, general please!
I don't know why,... it's just MUSS easier to pedal than the other ones.
