The magnetic force a sunspot exerts on a kitteh should be studied and used to power the world.

My neighbor's Ditch Panther came to visit me while I was down in the cabin of one of the boats doing an electronics upgrade. She's very stand-offish with me but will come to any troll size child since she's from a house full of kids. She had to grow up fast. Had a litter of kittens at about 7 months old! Only 2 survived.

Second pic was the other day when she started to warm up to me while I was carking a boatload of Pacific Bonito. I must have hand fed her a 1/4 pound of fresh Bonito sashimi!

I think she's starting to like me a little!

The photos don't do her any justice. She's very unique in that she appears to be a white cat with orange tips but if you look at her closely, she's actually very faintly orange striped and beginning to get a bit darker. Her feet are the only true white part on her. She has white socks that are defined around her ankles.

    Hmmm....Do cat's have ankles?

Taz is on the mend, stitches out Tuesday. He had a little urinary tract blockage issue, had to go under the knife. It seriously was a time to decide, I voted to put him down, Mrs. O and Opti Jr. vetoed me.

Glad your kitteh is on the mend!! Perineal urethrostomy? We (Mr. Wallace) suffered a near disaster just over a year ago due to a "blockage" and a botched Cysto (urine sample) by a vet tech. He almost bled to death and would have if I had not checked on him when I did. 5 nights in the ER, 2 life-saving blood transfusions, one nearly killed him, catheter surgery and lavage, and ultimately a life-saving perineal urethrostomy. What a roller coaster for all involved. $6000! Cost me $200 as insurance paid the rest!

Yeah, PU. Never thought of pet insurance. He has had instances before, but the last was over 4 years ago, I thought we had his diet figured out. He's starting to cruise the house again. In typical cat fashion he hugs the walls, kept smacking his cone on door casings etc, lol, but he figured it out.

It's likely NOT his food or diet. Look up Idiopathic Cystitis. Our guy got chased by the neighborS dog. All fun and games, no contact. He came in the house and immediately pi$$ed on the floor while straining. Of course, we blamed urinary crystals and the vet did the cysto to check. They sent him home with a Dx of no crystal, no bacteria. Problem is, they pierced an artery in his bladder and sent him home. I have learned a lot about it since then. It's brought on by stress. A recent study from Ohio State, I belive, says that up to about 75% of blockages are actually idiopathic and NOT caused by infection or crystals. This is new stuff, now.

It's not stress, he's got it made. Very sociable cat, always out and about, no other pets, only goes outside supervised. Male Himalayan are notorious for urinary difficulties. On a bright note though, he is even more lovable now than he has been in a long time. I think he has forgiven me already for the cone, lol.

I went a long time without declawing Taz, I didn't want to at all, but the crazy varmint used to haul ass across the furniture and up the drapes and everything else. He was literally a Tazmanian Devil, lol, made of velcro.

I have a 16 1/2 year old cat that is a total sweetheart, however if you try to trim his nails, you will bleed.

My other 2 cats are older neighborhood rescues. I'm in no hurry to to try to clip their nails.

Joey went to the vet for minor surgery, he goes crazy with the cone so the vet suggested a tshirt until healed.

My Sammy took his last trip to the Vet last week. He was 16 1/2 years old.

He was the runt in a liter of 9 and the only one to live more than 6 years.

He fattened up and reached an all time high of 24 pounds, although he was down to 16 at the end.

Riding Fat and still just as fast as I never was.

Thanks everyone, lots of good times, enough to erase the bad times at the end. Also 2 neighborhood strays have moved in (they figured out the dog door), so still more than enough cats around.

I found a great bike shop in Brooklyn while I was working there this summer, Red Lantern Bikes, they actually have a bar in the bike shop, with great food to boot. Perfect stop on my ride "home" after work, and they had a shop cat that was pretty friendly, his name is Landshark, big gray tabby, here he is snoozing on one of the tables,

I am seriously a firm believer that every shopkeep should have a cat onboard. Here in SLO town, we had a nice jewelry store that my wife would frequent and I would avoid if I could...till I met "Bandit" the cat that lived in the store. He was a super clean and sweet tuxedo style kitty-cat and was just so cool...or warm, actually. He would lay on top of the glass cabinet counters under the little tiny hanging halogen spot lamps that would so beautifully illuminate the nice diamonds. He'd just roast in place like a burger and fries order at Denny's while you pet on him. If you needed to see what was under him, you just slide his curled up body to one side under another lamp. He wouldn't care or even move a muscle! After a bunch of years of me going in there to see him and always buying birthday/christmas gifts for my wife, the owner had to move him to his home because "Bandit" kept setting of all the new-fangled alarms that evolved in the store! I miss Bandit and now he's not there, I don't go in.

Shop/ship/store cats are the best. One of the reasons that Universal Cycles is my go to online store is that they support their local cat rescue efforts. I don't know that they have a shop cat, but I like to think they do.
