I think Mookie was probably referring to the weird pattern that developed.

But of course you skimmed the thread, and didn't see it.

And some early Kenny Wayne Shepard at age 20. Stevie Ray Vaughn was his mentor and taught him. As he just broke the out on the scene on David Letterman. Awesome guitarist.

I saw The Stones live twice late 70's early 80's. Both great outdoor shows with numerous other bands opening up for them. They put on a killer show.

No. But every once in a while, a non-blues band releases a blues song with blues guitar that rivals any full time blues artist.

Angie, by the Rolling Stones is one of those blues songs.

I would call the Stones a "Blues Influenced" band. Very capable of performing straight-up blues.

Hell, they named themselves after a Muddy Waters song.

Most of the rock has its roots in blues from back than.

    Hope

Jack of Diamonds, Blind Lemon Jefferson... I did the Delta Blues Restructre Project in the late 90's... using the internet, hundreds of us studied particular artists, songs, and styles, and recorded missing passages from late '20's wax recordings.
One man, pissed off, singing about it.... the blues...In my humble opinion.

Parts added were from a 1932 National Style O, with John Pierce 13/56's. Recorded with my Shure 56 in a tiled bathroom for natural reverb.

Saw ZZ Top last night. They can still rock it and even played a set of their old blues stuff... One Foot in the Blues = their best release.

Great band, it always amazed me how much incredible sounds came out of only a 3 person set. I've seen them 3 or 4 times. The last time was at an outdoor small venue in San a Diego around 2000'. They still got it going on, huh.
