    What a relief.

I thought there were two fatal beaver attacks today.

So I tune in to check on my thread, and I don't recognize a thing. My beaver has been usurped. No beaver attack is big enough for two men from the OC.

    Net worker, good one.
Cyclelicious, great song I'm surprised you knew about it.
    Heyyall. Classic scene, a favorite.
Hawg, I'm still thinking about it.

Beavers one of the few species that are monogamous. Few beavers of the human kind can say the same.

What exactly is a "beaver"? I know what the animal is but I keep hearing it applied to humans in this thread. Will somebody please explain it to me in plain English?

A Beaver is of a oily waterproof furry coat. Flat tail and long curved scissor like teeth. with a mean attitude. A human beaver comes in a several different fur variations, some thick and furry while others are bald or almost bald. Scientists have been baffled for years on this. They also have long scissor like teeth and some have a flat tail but most all have a bad attitude. These are the only differences between one species and the sub species.

Thanks DJ, can you supply some pics now please? I'm having a little bit of trouble picturing this.

    True story

I survived a near lethal beaver attack as a teen...it was weird because the beaver belonged to a cougar!

Before interacting with any critter, one should learn their danger signals.
While on / near water, and a LOUD slapping sound is heard...
retreat now, you are too close to their den, and he/she is telling you to back-the-f-off.

Domesticated critters are easily misread, especially if dressed in sheep's clothing.
Telltale female signs may include fake tan, uber-long nails, gobbed-on makeup, gagging perfume,
    and chi-chi designer handbags.
Probably best to avoid men that are serial self-promoters, drive monster trucks, have facial tattoos, or talk often about past gf's / wives.
Avoid anyone who refuses to go for a simple walk. They're far happier in a shopping mall, than out in the woods on a bike.

Oh & yeah, laws protect teenage boys from becoming cougar-bait.

I had a girlfriend one that gave me that exact same warning. We were swimming and she "slapped her
large flat tail against the water".
Trust me I never ignored that warning again.

Chasing bears through the woods drunk with a dull hatchet is strongly not advised
