Heck yeah. Make the best of it. You'll find work soon enough. Just don't break any expensive parts...or bones!

I was there since February. I was even promoted. Their reasoning was that I missed a few things in a couple of orders in a rush resulting in a customer complaint. My first ever complaint. Not logical, but go figure.

File a grievance. Or perhaps there is more to the story. Why would they want rid of you?

It's not logical for them to fire you making at least two errors? I think it depends on what your job is and what's the background but that's really not our business. If I were you, I would just keep this private. My cousin is a surgeon and I'm pretty sure he gets canned if he makes one error.

Anyhow, I'm very sorry you lost your job and its great that you have a positive outlook about this. Good luck, Kona!

Well that sucks, hope you get another job soon. You must have done something more egregious than screw up a couple of orders though. It might have been a general subpar work performance or even something like poor interpersonal skills. When you finally land another job try to reflect back on your former job and try to understand why you were fired. And then take corrective actions and improve those traits or behaviors that got you canned.

    Good luck, unemployment ain't good.

Hey Kona sorry to hear that. It took me three day's to work up enough courage to open this thread. I didn't want bad luck to come my way. You might want to change the title. On a better note these thing's are better left private. I'm sure it dawned on you that by starting this thread people are going to delve in to why they let you go. Best let this thread die and move on. As nwbiker said QUOTE: "When you finally land another job try to reflect back on your former job and try to understand why you were fired. And then take corrective actions and improve those traits or behaviors that got you canned".
I would say that's the best advice here, keep your chin up and be persistant in finding something else.

I think that's because he opens up his whole world to us. Most of us keep our private problems just that private. This place is where I come to forget all those problems and get a laugh or two. Just an escape from everyday life whether it be in the OC talking about everything under the sun. Or out there arguing about why his 29'er is better than any other bike on the planet.

Well I'm slowly learning to keep things to myself. I just needed to vent, that's why this thread is here. Sorry. Things will get better.

You realize this is a woe is me thread. If you need to vent, get a twitter account. Works for millions of oversharers across the country.

But seriously, I'm glad you're slowly learning. In the meantime, get riding! By the way, congrats on your 5k posts!

Friday 13 1975... got hit by a guy driving a Ford Transit who didn't look while pulling out from a gas station, and I hit him on my just-rebuilt Laverda 750 SF... Ended up in hospital for several days with a banged up knee, but even tho I hit him at maybe 70 mph, I managed to make it a glancing blow and bounced down the grass verge for a while with the bike. Bike didn't survive, but thankfully I did! I am very wary about traveling on Friday 13 since then!

    Still got my job tho...

Remember the old comic strip, "Pogo"? That one character who, every month, would run around when the 13th was coming up, no matter what day it was, freaking about how Friday the 13th was coming on a Monday that month. or a Tuesday, or whatever.....

    That always cracked me up.
