Another reason why Facebook is ruining the world

Alcohol may lead nowhere, but it sure is the scenic route!

I wouldn't do business with a bank that used facebook as an indicator of anything except the overall decline of society as a whole.

I would tend to agree with you, however, the real concern here is that a) I'm sure banks already factor in, and have access to, far more information than you are aware of; and b) I'd worry that this is the beginning of a larger phenomenon that will become widespread among financial institutions.

Just look what facebook has done to the job market . . .

I've wondered the same thing. I don't have facebook either, and if that were considered a negative factor I'd be real pissed.

Well, yeah but even so they'd be stupid to weight that over the actual evidence of ability and desire to repay ...

I think the world over has learned that banks are, in fact, run by stupid people.

And the information I'm referring to is things like paypal history, ebay and amazon history - basically, all your shopping habits - compared against your credit report. In other words, they can tell if you're delinquent on an account and yet still buying Hello Kitty collectibles.

    a) I agree about stupidity
    b) I'm not delinquent on any accounts but how did you find out about my addiction to Hello Kitty?
