    Amy's Baking Company

Has anyone been reading about this today?

They were on Kitchen Nightmares on Friday and the internet blew up as the owners went batshit crazy on Facebook, Reddit, and Yelp yesterday and today.

    It started with this:

Watch Gordon Ramsay Give Up on Delusional Restaurant Owners in Kitchen Nightmares - Video Interlude - Eater National

    Summary of social media meltdown:

How Not To React To Internet Criticism: The Epic Facebook Meltdown Of Amy?s Baking Company ? Consumerist

Here is their Facebook page which still has all of the juicy bits as of 5:30 on 5/14/2013.

    https://www.facebook.com/amysbakingco

There are plenty of screen grabs floating around the interwebs in case they get a clue and clean up their Facebook page. Any of our AZ OC'ers been to this place and have a juicy story?

I watched the last 10 minutes of that episode on television. The owners were, in fact, batshizz.

I was in there last Fall but it wasn't as EPIC as the latest, just crappy food and even crappier service both of which I can get at home so I have no motivation to return there.

Wow, I just don't see how a small business owner can be this tone deaf towards running a restaurant and expect to stay in business. The meltdown is hilarious but sure to keep paying customers away, at least in the long run. I'd like to meet Amy and Sammy for sheer entertainment though. I don't watch Kitchen Nightmares but I'll have to keep an eye out for the rerun.

Anybody else notice that the percentage of crazy goes up in owners of small business. The craziest bosses I've ever had were all small business. Just too nuts to get on anywhere else so the only option they got is to start a business. Oh, I've had some good bosses at small businesses too, but it's like they say: Those who can, do. Those who can't start their own business.

One of my friends is trying to get down there this weekend since he lives in town. He's a big MMA dork that likes getting punched in the head, so it could interesting.

I gotta say that this social media meltdown trumps the ones I've witnessed here on mtbr, though there were some priceless ones here, too.

I watched the episode on Kitchen Nightmares last week. Ramsay had a full plate with that train wreck!

FB posts are good. I really need to get on this Facebook thing

Wow. That is one serious meltdown that most likely ruined it for their business. The Facebook page is great.

Good call. Reality TV always makes the dregs of society into big stars.

She definitely married him for the money. After this show aired some guys did some research and found out she was actually in large debt before marrying this guy and went to lengths of changing her name/identity in hopes to evade it.

Episode was pretty good, owners were nuts.

Is it just me though? That Bleu Ribbon burger looked pretty good. It may have been over sauced with the aioli and the truffle oil, but Im ok when burgers juice out in my hands...mmmmm sooooooo good.

Ha ha, I saw that episode. I thought that burger looked pretty good too, minus the drippy bun.

What kind of a moron gets an opportunity to have Ramsay come in, train your people, upgrade your equipment, and then throws it away? The kind that own Amy's Baking Company.

The episode started with her telling Chef how she melted down on Yelp due to a bad review.
But if you close your eyes it becomes so easy to see

I guess they expected him to tell them that they are perfect and the only reason their restaurant is failing is that all those ungrateful wretches in the general public simply fail to recognize their greatness.

This article's got some updates that're good for some lulz as well.

Don't worry, they'll be out of business soon enough. I read an article called "the secrets the reality shows don't tell you" (or something like that), and one of them was that almost all of the restaurants featured on Kitchen Nightmares fail anyway. Of the 20-something restaurants featured in the first two seasons, only two were still open a year later. The restaurant business is hard as it is, and these restaurants are on the show because they are already in trouble. A dining room makeover and some new appliances aren't going to help if the owners are bad at business to begin with.
Speed solves all problems, except for those things it makes worse.

I'm really offended that they would suggest that us well-meaning thoughtful posters are trolls.

She seems to have an impulse control problem and can't stop losing it and berating people. She should probably stay off the internet.
