The "all about bikes only thread" in the "no bike discussion" forum page
Starting to see talk & pics about "bikes" in the OC. While I personally do not have an issue with this the powers that be might, so I figured it was time to set up an "official thread page" dedicated to bike talk in the OC. Talk about anything related to bikes you want. All types, all styles, all sizes are welcome as well as all riding styles.

I think they're a good idea if the area you are in is prone to flooding....

    .... oh, wait a minute....

.... bikes? Nevermind then. Wrong forum. I thought I was in OC.

This is sorta like when the city gives the taggers an official spot to do their graphetti. Or like the porta-potty companies installing dry erase boards to cut down on the "writing on the walls".

    Now wait a minute.
This is the Off Topic forum.
The topics on this forum are supposed to NOT be about bikes.
So every topic on this forum NOT about bikes is on-topic.
Therefore the only topic that is actually off-topic for this thread would be about bikes.

    Ow... that hurt my head.:madman:

    Ok, then. :)

You know, bike topic really is kept to a minimum, and then it's not like it's a debate between which 29er pedals are the best, it's more like the bsing that I mentioned earlier. :)

Agreed. The term is used loosely for the most part in OC. But when I started seeing members posting that other members had already mentioned the unmentionable, I figured it might be a good idea to start this thread. Just trying to help, that's all. Personally, I believe we should be free to talk about anything here in OC, anytime we want to....politics and religion excluded.

I was just making fun toward monzie. I was going to post it up anyway, but you really should always try to blame your indiscretions on somebody else. Everything after that was also in good fun. That's the way I see it anyway.

This whole thing was only ever meant to be in good fun. That is the way it is here. :)

BTW, I like to mess with Monzie, too. :D

I like it. The d0uches don't come in the OC. This gives us a chance to "Talk amongst ourselves." I'll start.

You can ride any bike on any trail - just not as fast as a bike specifically designed for a specific type of trail.

Is tap water safe for that lawn? Or would bottled water be better?

Looks like it might be a basement. Up here, we'd do that just in case of expansion. I wonder why the 1/4 round moulding doesn't go all the way though. That looks a little odd.

well the drywall is nice bu the baseboard is kinda dull, no omph. same with the door casing. The 1/16 inch space at the bottom is to make it easier to put the laminat flooring under it so it alright.

but other then that it's is put together well.:ihih:

    sonett?

My house I had back in Michigan had a fully finished basement. I left my drywall about 1-1/4" from the floor, used 1x4 that had 4 coats of polyeurethane on all sides for baseboard, just in case I got some water. Also put ceramic tile down instead of carpet. Worked great, got water twice and it took nothing more than a couple of hours with a squeegee and some bath towels to clean it up.

    Lolz!

The gap was left to put the floor in. The contractor who built my house sucked

That's why I've always done my own work. I hate gaps in trim work, and I like stained trim. I've thrown lots of it away and cut more just because I wasn't satisfied. I built my own solid oak raised panel wainscoting in my Michigan dining room, took forever and took lots of compound miters. Ended up doing it one piece at a time, rough fit 2 pieces and nail the first one in. Rough fit the next 2 and nail the next 1 in, and so on. Turned out really nice though.

I'm on a crappy split shift this week. I fired one of my night shift horizontal mill operators, I still need the mill to run, so I'll work noon-10:00 for a week or so and run the machine myself after the day guy goes home, until I get the position filled. I see an advantage or two, I can squeeze in some morning rides, and maybe even a nice later night ride or two. :)

I saw someone with that exact same bike, in the same color, on yesterday's goofy Halloween Cruise bike ride. Check out these bikes! :D I believe most of these are the epitome of "Off Camber" bicycles, as they definitely aren't mountain bikes :D.
