That's the second cool thing we saw/heard on another singlespeed ride. The first one was a low-flying military aircraft, but the camera didn't pick up enough detail to make it worth posting, unfortunately.

Singlespeed ride to Davis with Matthew by freighttraininguphill at Garmin Connect - Details

This one may belong in the "Never judge a rider by their appearance!" thread in Passion. We caught up to a guy on an old beat-up hardtail mtb with knobbies at a red light. When the light turned green and we all started riding again, I noticed he also had a bent rear wheel.

In spite of all that, he maintained 18 mph plus for about 2 1/2 minutes. Now maybe I've led a sheltered life or something, but I think that's pretty impressive!

<strike>Winter's here for many of us, how about some first-ride-in-the-snow-of-the-season pichures?</strike>

Ok, no takers, let us call this one a failed experiment.

I could post up some pics of me in a long sleeve jersey and a snotty nose, but that's the winteryest I'll be able to do.

I've concluded biking is a bit slow these days and people are now officially stir crazy.

freighttrain, at the end of your first video, is that a bag of potato chips hanging out of your riding partner's bag? The unfit looking guy with the Coke box on his bike definitely wasn't wasting any time, gotta in absentia rep him.

Yes, it is about biking but goofing off is the very basis of the O/C so have at it.

On a more serious note I took my last ride ever today, before the end of the world. Just my usual workout loop. The views are so spectacular on a clear day (and it was fairly clear today) that I figured it would be nice to see all the sights one last time in a sort of inner peace making way. It was beautiful and I did enjoy myself.

On Saturday, after the world has ended, we are planning to hit some fun single track...

Hope you all get in some good times before it's all over and done.

    technically blue and white.
    I'm joining the clan.

I'm moving on though, just picked up a bianchi nirone, all white with red. Spose it's almost time to pull out the trainer to actually ride it.
And this winters project is gonna be a black and grey On One 456c, black Vengeance, black wheel set, etc. Stealthy.

Yes, a mullet. And no instagram back then. You had to take a picture with a camera, and then you had to take the roll of film to a drugstore, and then you went back in a couple of days to get your pictures.

Yeah, it was a long uphill grind. Typical climbing video, lots of heavy breathing, sweating, nail scratches, pulled hair, etc.

Just for the sake of argument, I wonder how long of distance in proportion to their size they would be riding a bike in our world on that swim upstream they do?

You know you have been on this thread too long if you think heavy breathing sounds more like climbing a steep grade than any other activity.

And you know you're getting old when breathing hard from steep climbing sounds more attractive than breathing hard from the other thing.

I sure am glad those little tadpoles don't have hearts because it would surly explode in that gear combo on a near vertical 40 mile climb.

Look, I'm no electrician, but I think the fluid dynamics make it so that it doesn't matter the grade of the climb.

Think about swimming in a pool underwater.... Is it any harder to swim down than it is to swim up or sideways?
