    No Need For Water?

I have a cat 3 race coming up in a few weeks. It will last under one hr. in duration. When I do high intensity training rides of 1 hr, I do not NEED water. I"ll take a swig from my camelbak after a long climb kinda for "comfort", but I'm not really thirsty.

Would it be wise to hydrate well before the race, and go without my camelbak?

    Thanks.

Not an expert, but from what I have read you should be fine.

Check out the book called Waterlogged. Gives some good science based information on the actual hydration needs of endurance athletes. Of course this is somewhat dependant on the weather.

I might throw a small bottle in my jersey just to be safe.
