    bike fuel

    I ride a rails to trails for about 20-25 miles, I take along energy gels and a cliff bar. what energy gels are good and any additions to take along.

    For 2 to 2 1/2 hour rides you probably only need water.

    I prefer to take Powerbars, or the gummy energy gels (Cliff Bloks or Gu Chomps). They are much less messy, and you can eat them gradually. I take one package for every hour I plan to be out riding, and sometimes another one if I know I'm going to be doing a lot of climbing.
