    Anyone seen this?

have a relatively new Don Camelbak and there is something inside the hose coming loose. it's not mold. seems to be a ruberish material. almost like a protective liner/coating. really grossed me out when i sucked a chunk of it up yesterday!

I've seen that happen when hydration bladders were filled with substances other than water. Margarita filled packs that don't receive a good scrubbing after being emptied tend to get residue like that.....just sayin from personal experience.

    i like that idea!
no, only water in this one. i have 5 camelbak's and this is the only one like this. it's not very old, just got it last fall. i use Hydracare products to clean them.
whatever this is is very elastic. i can pull it and it springs right back. it's definitely not residue of anything i've put in it.
i sent a note to camelbak too. see what they say.

The lining gets stressed from removing ends for cleaning, so eventually it will warp and delaminate.

Just cut tubing 1/8-1/4 flush above brown region there.

Also attach ends under running water for lubrication
