    Weekday Pisgah ride 10/25/2006

I will be staying in Asheville and I am looking to get a long ride in next Wednesday. If anyone has the day off let me know and we can ride.

    No plans on route yet.

    Peace.

Alright folks. A plan was fashioned yesterday.

Meet at 10:00am at the bridge on 1206 right before the road turns to Gravel in the North Mills camping area.

Our plan is to climb Laurel and come down Big Creek.

    See you then.

hm, I've only ever climbed big creek. Of course when I say climbed, I mean I got off the bike and walked the three miles to the parkway lol... Going down it seems like more fun although the climb on laurel will be interesting. How long will this ride be? If I can make this I'll be on a single speed...

Yup we climbed Big Creek two weeks ago. Now I get to have my vengence coming down.

I really have no idea how long it will take. I will be on SS as well.

A tomato tentatively raises his hand and says "Hell Yes!"

I will be prepared to "follow" whatever craziness you intend to "lead" us on.

    1) Plume- this is the ride you were supposed to do yesterday, not Weds. Anyway, Big Creek down is the most fun ever, but know that there's a lot of hike-a-bike even with gears to get there up Laurel.

    2) This ride took me, Laurey (bouncybouncy here) and Kassi about 5:50 of moving at a steady pace all day. We did stop and enjoy the beautiful weather a few times...incredible day of riding. Total mileage- 23, but a lot of walking was done.

    3) Ppro- if only I could...how about tomm evening?

i know mike, my appologies. Me getting out of bed sunday morning wasn't working. Hope you guys didn't wait long. I ended up doing some N. Mills stuff on my own but it doesn't look like it was as interesting as your ride!

extmtao and I did Big Creek down for the first time, I had to be pushed to finish the ride (thank you) but we did finish it. Eric or Jonathon will have to post the entire route but we rode all day from 10am to 6:30pm. Total ride legnth was around 41 miles, add somewhere around 3 miles of a hike to the top of pilot rock and we finished just under 45 miles. Definitly a character builder. hopefully Eric will post pics and the route we took...

lol, I'm so glad you talked me into not only completing the ride but going down Big Creek. I felt much more comfortable on it than I thought I would!

good times, can't wait for the next one...
