Cool-blue Rhythm Sunday's Ride Kuykendall, Farlow, Cove Creek

Join us this Sunday October 10th @ 10:00am. We will be doing a shuttle. Here is the planned route. Kuykendall Campground>FS471>FS229>Trail 106 (Farlow)>Trail 105>FS225>Trail 340(Cove Creek). We can either continue or head back to our waiting vehicles at the Fish Hatchery. All our welcome. Join us. This is should be a good sample of what the Ranger District is like. Of course we plan a casual pace.
There are Mountain Bikes and then there is "The Santa Cruz High Ball"

So Patrick - now that you are a Tallboy kind of guy, are you going to change your handle?

I am heading to Mulberry Gap tomorrow for 3 days. Much fun is planned.

I might want to go. Would I want a HT or a FS bike? I don't know these trails. Is it more of a downhill run?

Do you know the GPS coordinates for out of towners?

It's about 23 miles. If you took a detour down Butter, to Long Branch, 475, 229 it would be about 26 miles. If you headed back to Kuykendall from Cove Creek instead of to the hatchery it would be close to 34 miles total (no shuttle).
    many gears, some pies

I still own the Yeti till it sells. I know I would get some serious smack if I changed it to " Asheville Tallboy Rider". So if it's not broken why fix it.
Have a great weekend. It Sounds like your going to have a blast.

anyhow I would lke to go. I'm in town and ready for a ride I usally ride bent creek or dupont and a few time at coleman boundry something new would be great. The bike I'm have the most fun on these days is a VooDoo Dambala. I have it set as a 2 speed. If it's not real rocky that's what I would ride.

I don't know my way around so can you please post up some more detailed directions

    Fish Hatchery: 35.28538,-82.791724
    Kuykendall: 35.213639,-82.785251

I assume the meeting point is the hatchery parking lot and then a shuttle to Kuykendall. Is that still the plan Asheville TallboyRider, er Asheville UsedToBeA YetiRider?

I will be riding a FS and my friend Milke will be on HT. We will start with apx. a 12 mile clinb with the last 3 being the steepest. Below is a link to map and elavation details.
Keep in mind we should be getting off this course at the Fish Hatchery.
