STOLEN BIKE - Diamondback Response Sport - Charlotte

    STOLEN BIKE

From UNCC campus in Charlotte, NC

    Diamondback Response Sport
White with black and red graphics
26 tires, 27 speed, disc brakes, Spinner Edge fork, black seat and wheels

If seen, please post, message me, email me! I'm handing out a flyer to local bike shops tomorrow. I haven't had it 2 months, I wasn't even in class for an hour when it got stolen. Some bmx kids riding around said they saw it ride off 15 minutes after I left it, they didnt see him jack the lock or anything though. Here's a couple pics to hopefully help.

    Thanks!

Dang, that really sucks man. I really hate that we can't keep a bike around without someone stealing it. It's really a shame! I'm around the area, I will try to keep a look out.

He/she who works the trails does so in their own image, NOT YOURS.

    Speed just slows me down...

    Hope it works out.

This happened to my bike a couple years back in CLT as well. I found it on craigslist the next day after it was stolen. I solicited friends to respond to the add so I could get pictures and confirm it was mine (it was).

First, file a police report if you haven't already. Hopefully you have the serial number that confirms the bike is yours. Next, I would try to get someone to make contact with the seller to see the bike somewhere in public. Call the police and have them meet you at that location. There's really no perfect way to handle this. My experience was the the police didn't have much time to investigate, so I did all the leg work. The hardest part for me was establishing contact with the guy selling my bike.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you. I hate thieves.

    Stolen Bikes

    Hey Admins,

Maybe we should have a sticky post for stolen bikes, and people can just post theirs with a pic. It'd be a great resource. Working in a shop I try to keep a stolen bike list going, but this would make it much easier.

Good luck man, I feel your pain. I lost a Ti Xtr hardtail 10 years ago and it doesn't hurt any less.

I'll second that. More info out there the better.

    FYI:
We have a "Lost & Found" section on the local SORBA forum:

I think this bike is listed on ebay. There is one listed, and it is in Charlotte.

Thanks man. I've gotten that same link from a few others too, and they sent it to me through mtrb private message so I dont know why it would be switched off, but thats okay...The important part is, that I am taking care of the situation right and I will let you all know what comes of it; whether I get it or not, and whether that ebay bike really is mine. Once again, thank you all for your watchful eyes and help on this.

Yea, thank you to everybody for helping keep a watchful eye. I got my bike back and am happier than ever right now. All I want to do now is go ride my ass off and enjoy the trails. A special thanks to 550gts for his help/detective work on this too.
