The Bent Creek "subdivision", south of Asheville.................It's land (about 15 acres) that was a "park" then was forgotten, about ten years ago the local residents brought it back to life and now we keep it alive through volunteer efforts from folks in the community. We have a growing number of bike-centric folks moving in and lots of kids growning up with an appreciation for the finer things in life........like riding mountain bikes. We hope to build something that all levels of riders can enjoy.

Yes, help is always welcome (bring your bike)............Saturday will be the big day.
We are able to do this as a result of the few races we had this year in the park (SAS 4.0 and The Bent Creek CX race). We also have a few sponsors which I will formaly thank at a latter time.......I wish Ben B still lived in the hood.

A great supportive neighborhood! Almost all of the work done upgrading and maintaining the community park is volunteer. Donations and annual yard sale proceeds help too.

WK: What year is this? (Friday, I wish... oh how I wish.)

Where exactly is the park located? We are heading down to Asheville next week for Thanksgiving with my wife's family and we're bringing the bikes with us. I would love to hear some recommendations on other good rides as well.

    Directions to the park:

    - Take the Blue Ridge Parkway exit #33 off of I26

    - Take hwy 191 (Brevard Rd.) south towards the Parkway (Biltmore Square Mall will be on your immediate left). Take a right at the third stop light, which will be the first light after Discount Shoes (Pole Creasman Rd.).

    - Go up Pole Creasman Rd. about 4 streets and make a left onto idlewood Dr..

    - After 2 blocks will see the park entrance on your left.

I may have to get the ginormous Salsa out on that, even when I lived close to Ray's in Cleveland, OH I never really got the hang of pump tracks. So much fun trying though!

Things kind of crazy and fun on the pump track this "first" real weekend of use............folks with skill coming out showing what they got.
Time to put up a sign though with "da-rules" like...........no helmet, no ride.
