Somewhat OT- road riding OBX (to train)

Gonna be in OBX for a week in August. Want to tray. While I'm there, or at least not loose my training. Staying in corolla. Is it worth it/reasonable to bring my road bike?

Yeah, if you are happy riding the same thing. You can probably get some decent workout, doing out and backs, if you up the intensity and use the available road mileage from the VA line to Kitty Hawk. Fighting the wind is always a good way to train. The key will be to get out early in the morning before vacationer traffic picks up.

I've seen many a cyclist suffering in the blazing sun on that road while multitudes of cars and trucks rage by them. To me, it doesn't seem worth it. Try taking a jog on the beach.

Ride a fat tire on the beach at low tide. Hard-packed sand make for smooth riding, just have to give it a good cleaning after your ride to get the salt off.
