New question here. So are the Green River Gamelands Trails Legal to Ride Now? RE GreenRiverGames

I have done my share of kayaking the narrows, and a little hiking of the trails in the green river gamelands. I had always assumed the trails over there were off limits to bikes. There are quite a few nice trails there. Now I see the greenrivergames coming this fall and videos of folks riding the trails. When did this little known gem open up to bikes? Searching online I can't find any rules against bikes now. Other than NO ATV's or motor vehicles, and that the trails were designed for foot traffic.

Its legit apparently.... not sure exactly when it changed but folks are riding now. Everybody wants to capitalize on those MTB dollar bills. Soon Mountain Bikers will have their own fat roller tables in Vegas.
    BS'ing less, riding more.

Is there a map anywhere? Is this pretty much a downhill-only thing or is there a loop you can ride. This would be really nice for those of us in Spartanburg as it's just about 40 minutes up the road.

I used to ride in there many years ago. Did the old road up from Green River Cove as well as stuff up near Pot Shoals. I don't recall a ton of trails but it was ok riding when other stuff was too muddy or snowed in.

There are trailhead markers which say no biking, and there is a map out which says these trails are for hiking traffic only!!!!!...This may have changed. And all the trails are very short and most are too steep to climb. They also clear cut a large portion of the forest and a few trails have been lost .....

There used to be almost 20 miles of trails out there. I looks like they are in the process of upgrading the trails for bike traffic. Here is a quote from one of the web sites: "We need to get the trails ready for mountain biking and trail running by September and there is a lot of work to do. Work will included: building new bridges, digging water bars, cutting out fallen trees and general trail clean up. We will be organizing specific trail crew work days and would love your help. Please fill out the form below....."
