    Small snack before ride

So after work I go on a ride and instead of eating a big meal I usually have a small snack (Peanut Butter Clif Bar) but Im starting to get a little bored with it and was wondering what small snack you might have before going on a long ride?

Peanut butter jelly sandwich, or bean and cheese tacos, sometimes an apple or a couple of bananas. I've cut out the majority of processed foods that I ingest, if it's not a natural whole food I don't eat it anymore.

An apple, cashews, or almonds. Lately I have been bringing a big container of cut up mango mixed with blue berries eat the first half in the morning between meals, and the rest in the afternoon. Also keep packets of instant oatmeal in the desk, but that is usually breakfast. I try to avoid the cliff bars unless I am going on a long ride and that is part of my "meal" plan or I feel myself crashing and need some emergency energy. Compare that same weight amount of almonds to a cliff bar, and almonds have about 5 times the amount of protein without all the sugars.

1 cup of Oj, 1 cup of Pom juice. 2 tbl sp of flax seed, chia seed, nutritional yeast, spirulina and a tbl spoon of coconut oil blended up. Great for kicking off a long ride.

I think pre-ride is a great time to simply clean up whatever I've got in the fridge, usually thrown onto a corn tortilla or slice of bread. Just grab whatever's handy and somewhat sensible...

Pretty much do the same, clean up some leftovers.
    Often pigging out.

Before we rode Wed, I had the second steak I cooked the night before on a sandwich with cheese and bacon along with some leftover potatoes and a beer. (seriously)
Just stick it in granny and start grinding.
